Hi Make sure you get a genuine lucas module (easiest way to tell is there should be a little pack of white heatsink compound in the box with the module) if there isnt it's a Chinese one and poor quality.
Dingocroft sell genuine ones. Make sure you buy a Bosch coil too.smile

yes it should be a lucas module that I've ordered where does the heat sink paste go/do ?
and ordered a bosch coil all from ml performance parts "neil"

hi lester your more than welcome to call round when i'm doing the job i'll try to let you know nearer the time
I guess your doing the same as me replacing parts that could break down in a 13 yr + car and keeping the old parts as spares

It's an easy job. Just make sure you plug all the leads in properly.

Especially the lead to the distributor from the coil or you may find that your engine dies 10 miles up the A1M!!! Doh!!!

Morning Pyney Smear the paste on the back of the module, there is a metal plate on the back. It improves the thermal contact between the module and the heatsink it's fixed to. If it's not used your shiny new module will overheat and not last long HTHsmile

I replaced my ignition module a couple of weeks ago, really straight forward job. There are only 2 or 3 wires to remove from the old one and reattach to the new one and its obvious which one goes where. Just dont drop the bolts! And as already mentioned make sure you apply the thermal paste evenly and liberally to the back plate of the module.
