Dash top off,not?

For over a wk now I've been chasing a rattle on the left of the car, sort of inside the car, I've been bending, looking feeling, hearing and just couldn't find it, decided it was electrics loose under dash, aaaaarrrrgh.
Funny, with a Tvr if a bolt goes loose you panic, start thinking of a re build this or that to cure a loose bolt, I digress, well I got in the old girl tonight deturmined to find the source of this infuriating rattle, started pulling and pushing again, WAIT..... the f
king bonnet has/had a little pad on the left corner, well it's fell off. Put a little bit of rubber there, drove down the road, I almost cried! The relief of it all, lol lol lol. God damn cars! Honest every bump I've been wondering if the chassis bust, the shocks bust, all the electrics are about to go up in smoke, st like that, it's a roller coaster allright. Knowing how much these things mean to us it can be very painfull worrying over jack shi!!! Im a very pleased idiot!

Oh B*ll*cks - I have a rattle that I think is loose electrics under the left hand side of the dash, got the two L/H nuts off but spent 2 hours trying to get at the drivers side one, including losing a socket and angle piece under there (how?)- still with no luck at all.

The first pic shows the l/h side. The one nearest your knees going straight down, the 2nd one looking forward to the engine bay, that's the smaller hole to the right of the larger hole, TVR quality eh!
Next is the hole that is to the right and forward of the tachometer.
This shows the 2 fixings on the upturned dash top, l/h side.
This shows the single fixing of the r/h side with the bolt looking forward.

So the bolts are fixed to the dash top, learned something already. Is that the alarm/ immobiliser kind of just lying there Peter! When you see Tvr quality, I should have built my own car 20 years ago! my only question is the second hole/nut on the left front, how do you access it! Also do you replace the right difficult fixing with a wing nut?
Good news is that it's my bonnet that's been rattling. I new Dom would not have left owt lying around! The tops been off the car to replace heater and bulbs etc
This is a classic job 100's of us would gladly come and watch a top off day at Peters Tvr centre, lol. At the end of the day replacing a bulb costs the less confident !! I'm sure once you've had it off once you can only get better. Lol lol great pics, Peter were all with your extreme patience, welldone dude. It must be nice to know your car so well.

I'm interested to know what connections we're looking at in this one, including what the three loose connectors might be for!
Yes Peter but you have away of making a disaster sound like good fun?!! As long as things stay together I'll leave mine til summer then get the bleeders off just because I gotta bust a myth! Regards build quality, hilarious . I worked on high glass structures, we sometimes had st bracketary 10 floors up! Some ex con numpty grinding them up to fit, nooooo mate! Must have been the eastern block workers made it to Blackpool way back then! Lol joke joke. Please !!!!!
I've been in Scotland all wk they don't seem to have Internet up there yet, hope your cars coming together Peter, I'm only going to Bedford to hear that thing squealing around so we'll all be disappointed if it's still playing up. Are you on track as it were?

I believe the unused large white one is a redundant Land rover one, the small one is from an old digital radio that I need to remove as to the others......................that needs more investigating!I'm interested to know what connections we're looking at in this one, including what the three loose connectors might be for!
That's just great news old bean. Thanks for the offer your a gent. I'm waiting on rent, inv to be paid etc. I'm thinking of getting some winter tyres on my original wheels, get your old ones re furbed etc, take me time, I've lost a contract I've done for 5 years to 3 Poles!!!! Im nigh on semi retired at the mo, effing frustrating when I want to lavish love on me girl. I'm gutted but I'm helping my son build his Decorating business up so there's always a positive. Just like our cars it seems, they mimick the ups and downs of life! can't wait for Bedfoooord. I'm gonna potter round as I cant afford a retirement at the mo, but just turning up is like going back to when I was 10 and going off to bike meets. Just the start, I'm going to shape my life around my own Tvr diary!!!! Lol
