They keep coming: this time AMG has given us a 630hp SLS tuned for track work. I'm not going to ignore cars like this purely because the brand is so prolific.

We drove it at Paul Ricard, the rain stayed away just long enough to shoot. The story went live a few weeks back, but there are some lovely shots of this spectacular looking and sounding machine.
Pay attention to the section about the locking differential, it's a foreboding of good news for future fast Mercs.

That did seem a bit mad - the F12 has over 900bhp and under 1300kgs which means it's playing a completely different SPORT to this (and should be at 5 times the price) - I think that was just CH kicking the world's biggest keyring and T Shirt sales company in the head a bit 
The styling changes are - IMO - worse than the stock car tho, might look better in a colour other than "obviously designed for Arabs" white perhaps?
I imagine a SLS BS owner has a range of exotic cars at his/her disposal, so doesn't have to think SLS or MP4-12C or 458. But more a case of which one to drive on which day. It's a tough life some people live.

d. I prefer the looks of the original though. Pig ugly, hideous body kit, terrible colour, cartoonish looks, video a bit too long. I'm just waiting for someone to whine about Mr Harris drifting and wasting tyres next (again!).

These cars should be celebrated. It is awesome and the fact merc builds stuff like this should be praised.
Have you driven either an F12 or this new black series. Harris probably has, so may have a point. The F12 isn't as track focused like the merc, so it could be as quick... On a track.
I liked seeing the different parts, it allows you to picture these changes that you read about and appreciate the differences.
Liked the vid, like the car. Hope my numbers come up on Friday on the euro millions.

There is a reason only 300 or so were built. It has limited appeal i.e. for the diehard Merc fans. Oh and it was disappointing that the feature is full of praise, but then if its for the sake of promoting the product, that would be expected eh? I simply hadn't realised that may well be the case until I watched it.
