Easy! Get a pair of needle nose pliers, and stick the ends into the two holes drilled in the catchplate on the trailing edge of the door. Twist round to slightly unscrew the round plate, then use a rubber headed hammer to gently knock the plate outwards (towards the door skin). Then tighten it all up, close the door, and hey presto, no more rattling! It works!

Thanks for the tip. The car is sooooooooooo different. I can drive it without it feeling like it is going to fall apart when I go over the next bump. It feels so solid now.

Why the f**k couldn't the dealer deliver the car like this?

could you help and sorry to ask a dumb question - but really cannot find the two holes drilled in the catchplate on the trailing edge of the door ?? I have a slight rattle in the passenger door - not really much of an issue.. but thought I would give it a go. If anybody could send me a picture - then even I might be able to figure it out !! Thanks again..

Jasper, If you look at the 'bar' that goes into the catchplate to close the door, you will notice two small indentations/holes each side of it. That is what Nubbin is referring to.
