Need a bit of advice.
My C4S is going into OPC to get some new brackets etc on the exhaust mountings but there is suspicion that one side's baffles maybe on their way out which at 60K miles probably means the other side shortly after. It has PSE so is there a solution to replacing the individual silencer/baffles etc. I know if i ask Porsche i may as well give them my bank card and pin number so is there a easier option?

There is one silencer each side. Won't be cheap if you replace with PSE. Some kind of third party one or used standard ones will be cheapest.

At the end of the day its just metal work - find a decent machine shop who can cut it open weld or replace as required and refit - must be the cheapest option surely?

Cheers for replies.
Ill see what Porsche mechanics say on Fri. Have seen some other forums mentioning cutting open so i may go down that route as i know a good metalsmith.

Send the offending box to Gert at Carnewal. He can fix a broken/loose baffle in a PSE box.

Same thing happened to my PSE. Had the back boxes removed, cut, welded and refitted. Cant remember exactly but I think it cost circa £350. Made the world of difference though!

If you have Extended Warranty that should cover it.

If you dont have Warranty get a Milltek!

Got car back from OPC Guildford and work all sorted but baffles are gone on rhd side. Around £1200 for PSE equipped from Porsche.
Im not bothered about getting full PSE operation as i never switch it off anyway. So will be wanting just sports silencers. Seeing posts above mentioning Milltek etc what aftermarket exhausts match PSE as close as possible?
Im not going to do the engineering route as the exhausts are 65k old so dont mind replacing them.
Cheers for help.

I've got this exact same problem on my RHS pse backbx on my 997

I've also been over to OPC guildford to have it checked out and likewise was confirmed as baffles, get a really annoying rattle when cold but improves when warm.

Haven't done any research yet about getting it fixed but let me know if u find anywhere that's good a metal work, my preference is to have it opened up and fixed. Otherwise I'll just have to keep an eye on eBay for a replacement backbox.
