Well it looks like I have finally scratched my Porsche itch.

Car is Porsche 911S, 2009, Guards Red, PDK, SAT NAV, SPORTS MODE, TURBO ALLOYS, BOSE

Black Full leather interior, With Red Seat Belts, PDK 7 Speed Double Clutch Semi-Automatic Gearbox, PCM, PSE,Sat Nav, Sport Chrono Pack, "BOSE" Surround Sound, Unmarked 19" Turbo Alloy Wheels, Dual Zone Climate Control Air-Conditioning, Reverse Parking Sensors, Self Adjusting Xenon Headlights With Power Wash, Daytime Running Lights, Trip / Fuel Computer, Remote Central Locking With Built In Cat 1 Alarm / Immobiliser ( 2 Keys ), "COBRA" Tracker System Fitted, Heated Electric Door Mirrors, Electric Windows, Electric 3 Stage Memory Seats, Variable Speed BALANCE OF PORSCHE WARRANTY UNTIL 22/07/15 PORSCHE SERVICE HISTORY, CAR COMES WITH SERVICE, 12 MONTHS MOT AND ROAD TAX UNTIL 31/01/14

Was not too sure about the black leather and red belts but it looked ok.

Now I am a Porsche virgin, so is there anything I need to be aware of with these cars?

Car sounds great. I like the red seatbelts.

Most of the stuff has been covered in your other threads.

Worth mentioning you can turn off the stupid daytime running lights.

Pics will have to wait i'm afraid. Hopefully I will get some up on Saturday, if it's not raining, so it looks like it will be about a week or so then

Sounds like a nice car if you like Red.

How many miles has it done? Do you want to say how much you paid?

29,ooo miles

I was not looking for a red one and that was the only thing putting me off viewing it, but when I did see it glistening in the sun, it was love at first site.

I paid in the low forties.

Sounds good. Red should be easy to find in the parking lot.

The car is just a car so you need to pay attention to what the car is possibly saying to you.

Since you are unfamiliar with the car learn where all teh vital fluids are located and how to check them. Then check them occasionally until you are sure the levels are stable. I'm sure your used car check out looked for and found no signs of fluid leaks but that does not mean one can't pop up as the miles go by.

If you know services are current that's good. If you're not sure then get started on getting the services up to date. Engine oil/filter comes at the top of the list, with a brake fluid flush/bleed a close second if not a tie.

At the same time the car is in for the above service have the tech clean out the radiator ducts and check the body water drains. Your used car inspection should have found these ok or if not you should have factored this into your offer.

Then perhaps consider a PDK fluid service and then a coolant drain and refill. I know the PDK fluid change may be premature but if it were my car I'd err on the side of caution and get it done early. The coolant is "lifetime" but really the stuff loses its ability to fight corrosion and its ability to lube the water pump seals falls off over time too.

Engine air filter and cabin filter need changing every once in a while.

When you wash the car be sure you take it for a drive and use the brakes enough to get them hot and dry them out before parking the car up. If the brakes are wet the pads/rotors will rust and stick. These break loose but sometimes with a frightful noise. Also, this can under some circumstances lead to uneven braking feel -- aka pulsing brakes. Just drive the car and dry the brakes after a wash.

Then at other times just drive the car. Alot.

I could not collect the car on Saturday, so I am waiting for a phone call this afternoon to say it's ready.

I called the OPC this morning and asked if they could mail me a spec sheet, so I could compare it to the car. Now I was going to put a copy on here but it's a PDF file so I can't. The only thing that I cannot see on the spec is any reference to Turbo alloys, the spec sheet says 19" Carrera S 11 wheels. So I guess someone swapped the wheels. How can I identify if the wheels are genuine Porsche?

Yep.

I'm not suggesting I'd do it myself to a car I owned but an OPC will do it for under £1000 and personally I think it make a huge difference.
