Finally got the rear diffuser from OYA Carbon fitted. Here's my previous thread;
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Grange Exeter did the fitting, £750.00 all inclusive, contact Paul Easton. They removed the existing one, and found this is not a direct replacement as hoped like some other diffusers available in the UK. The parking sensors need to be removed and re-attached to the diffuser, trimming the carbon fibre holes designated for the sensors. The mesh covering the small rear cooler is also too large to fit behind the diffuser, so they removed this, cut to size and bonded it into the back of the diffuser. The side edges of the diffuser are bolted inside the body work so there are no visible external fixtures.

My only concern is that the stands and existing bolts used to hold the old part are removed so the centre of the diffuser is not fixed. It would be interesting to find out if this deforms at high speed as air gets caught in the rakes.

It looks very nice. £750 sounds pretty steap though?
It would be nice to see a side by side picture of an original AM rear defuser on the car and then this one. Do you know if there are any visible differences?

It does improve the back-end, congrats for being brave enough to try it.

Interesting about the fixings and it would be good to know if there is any distortion due to this.

Nicely done. yes

4 hours work + parts = £750 inc VAT, maybe cheaper elsewhere, but they did a great job.

Here are some other diffusers

The very outside vertical edges don't seem to meet the bumper correctly?

Not a concern. CF doesn't bend and therefore won't deform like a plastic or other FRP material.

Yes. Appreantly 2 hrs for the bumper off, and another 2 for fixing to body work, bonding in the grill, and refitting the parking sensors.

yes, they are about an inch lower than the bumper, but visually you can't see it unless your down there on your hands and knees.

Hmm. Every N420 diffuser I have ever seen, OEM or not, looks that way.

Looks good, IMO no difference to the original one. I had my original N420 diffuser (from astonmartinbits) mounted last year. If I am not mistaken, the dealer also had to drill some extra holes and it was not a "simple" bolt-on job. Also I think he had to remove the rear bumper in order to install the diffuser.

A week has gone buy and nothing seems to be happening with what started out to be such a promising opportunity, nobody else interested in a group buy??

The end result looks great.

I am interested in a purchase. But the £750 fitting cost seems high. I will speak to my local dealer in Reading and see if they can do it for cheaper.

Might be worth you having a good look at how mine is fitted and see it it could be done more easily and cheaper. I'm at the silverstone weekend and Henley boat trip, if you are at either perhaps we can meet to have a look at the fitting.

I installed my own CF diffuser. It involved removing the wheels, wheel liners, taillights, older diffuser, proximity sensors, 3 mesh panels, mounting brackets, disconnecting the exhaust tips and rear lighting harness and then removing the entire rear bumper. You then have to drill holes into the underside of the bumper for the mounting clips (not included). You will also have to attach a wire mesh to the diffuser (it doesn't come with it). If you are comfortable with all these steps, you can save yourself the ~£750 installation fee. Otherwise, best to pay an expert to do it. It took me at least 5 hours to do it since I had never tackled the job before.
