As it says ......... Having owned a string on 911's I'm considering a change to a ferrari - something that I've hankered after for a long time . I've always stood by my saying that tall people cannot fit in a car made by a nation of generically small people , no offence meant whatsoever to people of a smaller stature but its an observation that I've made over the years .

So my question remains - can a tall person fit comfortably in Italy's finest ?

I appreciate your feedback on the matter

Thanks , Barry ( Glasgow )

I'm 6'2" and I can fit in my California with the roof down.
Does that help?

6'5 and had everything from a 308 to a 550. Never any issues, in fact I would say 355 has more room than an air cooled 911 (of which I have had many too).

I'm 6ft 2 and felt having the lower carbon seats helped with visibility. I guess it depends on how tall you are from the waste upwards.

Yep, it's all about your leg / back proportions, but 6'3 you should be fine in anything modern Ferrari wise with the right seat set-up, not a hope with the racing classics (250 GTO etc.), same with Lambos, modern should be fine (not much experience of the less modern stuff, but the Miura is a total no go, damnit smile).

I'm 6'5" and had problems driving the 360.
The top of the screen was in the middle of my eye line
I was never sure if to look under it or over it
Hmmm, can't say I ever had that problem in mine. Would always have the seat low and steering wheel set high and forward.

I'm 6'3" (and a half!) and haven't had any problems with my Testarossa or my 456.

The cabin on the 456 can seem a little small coming from my daily Range Rover though.

I'm 6'4" and can confirm the 360,430 and Scud are fine
Yes the eye line is a little bit high on the 360 but you soon get used to it
I have heard but never checked that the 360 with the carbon fibre seat option sits you a bit lower
Lamborghini Gallardo did not work for me though

Cheers Gents .....well I think I can clearly say, with a great degree of certainty and thanks to you all, that a person of a taller nature can fit in a Ferrari ! ....many thanks again and this is where forums such as this really are invaluable - I appreciate your input

Thanks Barry

I'm 6'5 and have no problems in my 360 with the electric Daytona seats. The carbon backed sports ones do seem to give a bit more room due to being thinner but they are pretty rare. I don't really have an issue with the top of the screen being in my eye line but then I've got long legs/shorter upper body (I have the seat as low & far back as it will go).

430's are also fine but I find 355's more more awkard and don't really fit in 328's.

Also if you've got large feet that can be an issue as the brake and throttle pedals are very close together. I'm a size 12 and have to wear very slim fitting shoes (Puma speedcat type) for driving. Anything larger and I struggle not to touch the brake pedal when on the throttle.

I'm also in the Glasgow area so you're welcome to have a sit in mine sometime and try it for size - I'm at a fair few of the PH runs/meets.

Mike.

Very kind Mike - I'm involved with the Porsche Club GB and partake in many of the events and have often meant to look into the PH runs & meets . So when I get a minute I may well drop you a line or meet at some point. I'll get a closer look at the PH dates . Thanks Barry
