Cheaper alternative to the Porsche Transport System, or roof rack plus it can be used on my other cars.

Anyone going to the Motorsport event at Crystal Palace this weekend? Uses part of the old race circuit

Not a problem, just move the whole system towards the front. I've seen cars using the windscreen.
The system has been tested on a NASCAR at 140mph, two bikes on top.

Sorry, but still prefer the look of the RTS. I may be biased as I have one, but it seem more 'natural'. Having said that, that looks like a neat solution and what matters at the end of the day is that you get to use the 911, thats what I love about these cars, their versatility.

Any more details on what this is about?

I got my uncle to bring a few back from Florida.
I was going to get it sent, with a lesser amount invoice, but they use UPS, and I've found the boxes get opened by customs more often, with UPS. Customs just search the item, then hit you with the correct import value.
The other ones were for mates, but neither of them want them now. So I'm going to sell on the triathlon forum I use.
The Flight Deck ( spare wheel holder ) is worth getting.

I'd be keen to hear if anything similar was readily available in the UK. Presumably it'd work the same for a mountain bike? Otherwise I'm thinking about taking the swing arm off my full-susser to get it into the boot space.

I agree, I love the RTS, but didn't want to pay Porsche ££££ for something I could only use on my 911. Even second hand they are fetching over £200 on eBay. I can use this on my wife's Honda, my sons Polo, put on and taken off in seconds. Plus it looks the nuts at triathlon events wink

Unfortunately not avaible in the UK. Also you would need their fork adapter, to clear the front discs.

I spoke to my insurance company about the product because I liked the look of it and I posted about it on another thread - there was an entertaining video of a Mustang and Nascar.

As it's not crash rated for the UK, if you have an accident and your bike comes flying off and injures someone, it could get 'complicated'. I think the market is too competitive here for them to justify getting the proper EU crash compliance rating as they'll never recoup the investment. I'm sure it's fine but I don't want to be the expensive side of a disagreement in the event of an accident. I've used a friend's one in the US and it was great and I doubt there would be a problem but we all know what the insurance highwaymen are like.

I hear what your saying, but it would have to be some serious accident for the pads to defy the laws of physics and launch my 8kg bike. The last thing I would be worried about is the bike. The bike is held on with 5 pads, I've been on sites where three suckers have held quad glazed glass at just under 100kg, by crane, and never let go.

Haha...busted.

My bike's much heavier than 8kg.
I get scared just shutting the door as you see the rear screen flex with the internal pressure change.

Awesome. Amount of times I could have done with getting my bike in my RS when dropping off somewhere.

Don't suppose the plexi glass rear window would be strong enough though.....
