Oh dear, where to start with this one. More plot holes than a piece of Swiss cheese.
I saw the blurb on the tv guide, looked good. The intro scenes at the Mitsubishi proving ground look good as well. but its all one downhill since then...

Why is what turns out to be a Chinese junkyard mechanic learning how to drive a rallycar and build new cars in japan? How is that even possible? Would such a thing even exist in real life?
Do the Police in china really confiscate any car thats not 100% OEM standard?
What the hell is an international criminal wanted by interpol doing at the equivalent of a barryboys crooz? And why does he have a dodgy chinese accent if he is American?
Was commentary such as "we're crashing", "its a truck" etc neccessary unless we are blind?
If I'd just been plucked from a car and arrested for illegal street racing i doubt I'd be let go, even if they couldnt prove i'd hit someone with it earlier
Since when do the Chinese use Ford Orion/Sierra/Granada police cars in jam sanwdich livery with Western font numberplates?
WHY THE JUDDERING fk do they constantly switch between subtitled Chinese and spoken English, in the same conversation, between the same people?
If the police are so at his beck and call, why doesnt someone call them when the villain is spending a good 10 minutes smashing his place up? On top of which, how does a van obviously riddled with bullet holes manage in the first place to escape the attention of what would be a pretty major lockdown following the police massacre?
What kind of psycho weirdo murders police officers all to challenge you to a race in a public place?

I'm only halfway through the film and already its so hilariously bad that its hard to watch. Its like the fast and furious, only 10 times more woodenly acted, with even less plausible car scenes, and seemingly made on a budget of £2.50.
god only knows how bad the upcoming finale race scene is going to be...

Those police cars sound about right for Hong Kong back in the day.
