Has the McLaren P1 done a 6min 33sec at the 'Ring??
Discussion
Saw this on some Twitter feeds. Surely impossible? Bugatti,Pagani,Ferrari and Porsche may aswell just pack up and leave the party if true.

Apparently Ron knew it would go under 7minutes in a previous interview - http://www.examiner.com/article/ron-dennis-says-mc...
“We were testing the P1 at the Top Gear test track and I broke the lap record by 10 seconds.Going back to the Nordschleife, it’s going to be sub 7 seconds.It’s going to break all the records. I’m a little bit nervous to say it but I can say with all belief this is going to be the fastest car in the world. And that includes what has come before today and what will come after. So we’re very very very confident. No one’s going to get close to the performance of this vehicle.”

If that's true, then that's truly incredible
A couple of quick questions / food for thought ;
1) Are mclaren likely to be falsifying this claim, as there's certainly a lot of positive marketing from having such and incredible ring time ?
2) If you look at other cars anywhere near that time, maybe even to include Belhof's car, then these are pretty much out and out race cars and more than likely not great road cars ?
Interesting though and certainly a massively bold claim

Really, who cares what it does it in, it is totally irrelevant. Did you think it was slow? No, so what does a lap time matter. Does anyone buy a car cos it is 10 seconds quicker than another......I so hope not.
I would suggest that actually IF it does/did/will do that sort of time it's a utter game changer in the automotive hyper car realms. So I would suggest its quite relevant and I so hope yes ?

Possibly in the market for cars that are a million pounds.Off topic I know but I recall EVO being at the Ring with the Caparo T1 (owned by the English chap in the US who has the McLaren F1).
If I remember correctly, either the weather or a technical difficulty prevented them from setting a time. Does anyone know if a definitive time was set in a Caparo?
I imagine it would be in the same region as the Radical.
