Venturshield - the optimum coverage
Discussion
I had front bumper spoiler headlights tops of wings and across bonnet up to the vents (V12R). Then had both sills, front of rear arches , mirror backs and roll top of rear bumper. Contemplated A pillars but didn't do them . Just done 2k miles in France/Spain and as Francis will tesify - after paying me a visit on Wednesday - not one stone chip . I must confess I got quite close to quite a few cars and travelled on some pretty dirty roads so I think a very good test of the velnerable areas.
I am going to fit the kit of bonnet up to the louvres, full front end (splitter, bumper, headlights, front of wings), mirror backs, sills and rear arches (after removing the piddly bit the factory applies), and the bit under the boot lid where it opens.
Or I may just order a car bra for the front end and cover the rest in clingfilm

My full V12V kit also included the door handles and the bottom outer edge of the rear bumper, I added the whole bonnet as well.
Jonby had his A pillars done using some offcuts, which seemed to work well.
Mines done 11k miles with no chips on the VS area and one bug mark that has stained the VS (what the hell would it have done to the paint!)
Y100 talk to your detailer but I left my paint 4 weeks from shipment from the factory to harden off properly.

Same here. Francis doing prep and Paintshield being applied. I want Francis to use the PLE22 so didn't go overboard on the shield as it can be difficult to apply the shield on top of PLE22. So bonnet up to louvres, full front end and front of wings, mirrors, sills, rear arches and boot lip. Francis will prep the paint, shield applied and then PLE22 treatment.
Should look luvly jubbly

Hi Steve, I mentioned ple22 to Francis, I think he said he'd use a different product on top of the Paint shield. Whatever I'm confident the end result will be "luvly jubbly" indeed. Should look luvly jubbly

I had best do a good job then!

Didn't bother with Venture shield on Purdey. The front now looks as if I have competed in an endurance race! In other words my advice would be to do it. Having said that as to whether the film will stop a high speed gravel attack from Yeti or Mikey remains to be seen. Come the end of the year it will be time for paint rectification and the protective film. BR are going to sort it. No surprise rises there!

Rob, as you are no doubt aware, there are numerous options of 'protective' film available. Tom Wakeford at Paint shield Peterboro' has recommended Xpel Ulitimate, the self healing film. Not the cheapest but as a fit for purpose product, as good as it gets, including clarity, which sold it to me.
I've had Ventureshield on the Gallardo for 1 1/2 yrs now and no chips at all but I have 5 or 6 small stains (yellow car so shows)from bugs that will not come off. I know also for a fact some of them are from moth poop because I saw many in the garage one night and the stains were there the next day. My installer warned me that certain bugs have a chemical in them that stains the ventureshield. Wonder if the Expel is better at not staining?
