advice please! Missing car feature...Octavia VRS
Discussion
Hi would appreciate some advice please. Purchase a used car for the first time this weekend after 5 years of company cars.
The car was bought from an independant dealer and only in the way home did I discover that it appears not to have Bluetooth as stated in the advert. This is really irritating, as it was a key feature (I know I should have checked)....
The car itself is an Otavia VRS 2.0 tfsi 09 plate facelift. Unless I'm missing something there is no way to activate Bluetooth on bolero touchscreen system despite the phone button (just mutes stereo), no maxidot computer either so no use tooth on menu. I have even e-mailed Skoda UK to see if it left the factory with this option with no response!
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Sorry but I suspect this is the problem. If it's not fitted it might be possible to retrofit it but you might be cheaper getting a Parrot kit.Maybe someone legal minded can deal with the 30 day rejection rights thingy but I'd not have the cheek to do that when it's my own mistake, even if it was listed on the original advert.
Have you tried briskoda.net? They will know if it's an option or if you are just pressing the wrong button.
Autotrader populates spec for the wrong model year sometimes. My girlfriend's Seat Ibiza had cruise control on the spec list but, a day after collecting it on the motorway... No cruise control. This was a main dealer car (Seat dealer in Basingstoke CITY aka a right set of complete S. E&OE etc. Nothing you can do.
I got mine from carsystems in Poland. There are a few different kits depending on wether you want rSAP or not. Also if you have maxidot or multi function steering wheel etc
Mine was £200, I've got maxidot and also fitted the steering wheel. Mine is the non rSAP and it works 100% with apple and android phones, also does BT music streaming. More expensive versions also support SMS but I wasn't interested in that.

AHH skoda UK email, I rang them once to ask a simple question which they answered. Total length of call about 30 seconds.
This then started them ringing me about 20 times to do a customer servey, when i eventually succomed to their harassment it took 30 mins to answer questions about a 30 second conversation. I st you not.

The old factory units used to be torture with iPhones (there was a change around 2010 which improved things) so I went with a fiscon basic plus, naff name but superb bit of kit. Easy install (search briskoda.net). All hidden from view and all works per the factory unit, eg through the bolero head unit, steering wheel / maxi dot as fitted.
