This will be my first visit to the Festival and we will only be going on the Sunday.
I'm just about to book our tickets.....

So the question is, do i go for the £27 admission only or one of the grandstands for £49.

We bought grandstand seats last year and only used them for about half an hour. If you really want to see the cars on the hill climb, then either get there early or buy the grandstand seat.

However, you'll get as much entertainment by walking around the paddock and grounds gawping at all the fabulous cars. There are big screen TVs dotted about, so you can still keep an eye on the action.

For us, it wasn't worth paying the extra.

Either way, you'll have a great day.

We found that one of the best places to see the cars is as they group up and exit from the central paddock to make their way down the hill to the starting area. Mind your ears!

I have been going to the Festival of Speed for a few years now and love it! I have also found the main paddock is a great place to see the cars and spot the racing drivers.
Another place where you get a good overall view is by standing on the free platform. This is on the opposite side to Goodwood House. (near where they put the jazz band)!
I really do think the three day ticket is the best. Friday is great because it isn't so crowded! So you get to look at the cars without people pushing you. Also, some of the big name drivers from the past turn up on Friday like Rene Arnoux!
One last thing, if any of you are traveling to Goodwood via Midhurst, there is a very nice place at Singleton called 'The Studio Tea Rooms'. You can get a very good cooked breakfast with prices starting at £2.99. They open at 8.30am. I know this as my friend and I go there!
Hope you all have a great time!!!!

Do you have to buy the tickets in advance or can I just turn up on the gate for either Saturday or Sunday?
