It's been a busy, (track) day!
The guy who should take credit for this is SPGSTEVE .
He hopefully will give a full description of what is needed.
In very basic turns, an early scooby rack is needed, the input shaft needs to be changed to an hexagonal shaft, (that's the tricky bit) and new track rods fitted.
The rack bolts unbelievably in the same position using the scooby brackets, a pair of spacers and longer bolts.
All this is run by a Vectra leccy pump and reservoir.
A bit of wiring and Bobs a goodun!
IMO, the scooby rack feels the same as a TVR specific PS rack so all good there.
I've done about 4K and 4 TDs with mine this year and all good.
If anyone wants to see mine, (the set up) they're more then welcome.

It would be great to see a right up on the scooby rack. Although I think that the advantage with the electric power steering is that you have adjustment on the assist level and no requirements for power steering fluid, reservoir bottle and plumbing etc.... I think that engineer1949 writeup on his rebuild included the fitting of the Corsa B or Corsa C steering column but I think that mated to the standard non power steering TVR rack. I would like to know what other racks fit that are non power steering. Anyone know?

Wasn't the issue with the Corsa setup that it operates directly on the steering column so has the "disadvantage" that it uses the standard TVR manual rack (which is difficult to get spares for in the event that it fails mechanically) plus that as it works on the steering column then it puts a hell of a lot of stress into an area that structurally isn't up to handling it without quite a bit of bracing?The Vectra pump / Scooby rack is a more "normal" arrangement which uses a self contained electric fluid pump and reservoir but as the rack is from a Scooby then it's going to be possible to find replacements for a while.

Known issue with the vauxhall electric pas, it has a nasty habit of locking up on you, lots of postings on the web about it on corsa's, and having experienced the problem personally on the wife's old meriva I wouldn't touch one or have it near my car, vauxhall themselves changed the system as later meriva's for certain have non electric pas.
Some have fitted the early system to their cars and are happy, good for them and I hope they suffer no problems.

This is the system Im looking at, has anybody else have experience with it? I have a mate with a 4.6 V8 TR7 with it fitted on and he swears by it.

Gotta say Chunkyfella that given the two alternatives I'd probably rather go with the the electric pump and Scooby rack arrangement just because I can see less opportunity for catastrophic failure. Here you go ,engineer 1949 electric steering ..clever bloke he is !
