Hi,

I Got a call today from a woman stating that I had recently been involved in a RTA and claiming to be from Action Assistance. I told her that this wasn't so and ended the call, I suppose I should have asked where they got my details from etc. but at the time I was a bit unprepared. Now I'm wondering if someone has claimed I've crashed into them or something? Anyone know what's going on here? I was involved in an RTA but that was nearly 3 years ago and was settled quickly.

Should I give my insurers a call?

Cheers

Who do you think gave your phone number to Action Assistance in the first place?

I have no idea, although they did you a shortened version of my name I only ever use on websites for quotes etc... Maybe MoneySuperMarket or similar passed on my contact details, but then I usually use my old work number for those websites not my home telephone.

Hi

Had similar calls, eventually I rang them back, and he proceeded to tell me that I'd been in an accident in the last few years. I said I had't and he said it was probably a system error.

If you have been in an accident, I don't think whether you have or haven't that you are in any sort of trouble, they are canvassing from what I can work out. Or they are trying to get you to use them and claim money. Don't think its because someone has claimed against you as that would generally be dealt with by your insurance company and not some random company such as action assistance.

I've just received a call from them regarding an accident I had in 2010 (car pulled out in front of me, I hit them, their insurance paid out). The accident was very low speed (~5mph) and we both drove our cars away from the scene after the detail swap.

The lady from Action Assistance spent a good minute trying to convince me I could make a 'Level 1' claim because the seatbelt could have caused me damage when it tightened. What a s****y company. No wonder insurance is so expensive.

These people are parasites of the highest order.
I had an insurance quote from an online comparison company and ever since I've been plagued by calls despite ticking the 'no contact' box. Firstly by insurance companies and then by this lot. I've had 32 calls in the last week. I can only assume that because I had a claim in the last 5 years (windscreen!) the algorithms kick in. I'm well and truly fed up with it to the extent that I've mailed them that I will charge them for my time and record the calls in future. Copied in the Information Commissioner as well.
This is their mission statement from their CEO Sam White http://action365.co.uk/about/action-mission-statem...

I wish someone would post her number up so she can experience what her company dish out.
