Hi all,

Does anyone know if its possible to get hold of the heat shield that covers the petrol tank and the boot floor from the exhaust back box or is it a case of finding out what material it is (again no idea!) and getting a copy made up.

Mine has gone rusty at the edges so I would like to replace it.

Thanks in advance!

I looked endlessly to no avail, ended up buying the heat shield , taking it to a fabricators to have the edges folded. Turned out to be very expensive. Good luck

If memory serves me correctly this was a direct replacement. Had a particularly unpleasant buying experience, although suitably resolved.

This is the material (Sorry for the german shop), I know for sure because I replaced mine on the Sag last winter:

It's a double layer aluminium sheet...very stable

i found a much easier way: it's a radiator reflector foil glues itself and you cut it for your prefered size.

this helped me after 4-5 burned electronic speedometer-sensors in an overheated aera. the last was burned after 125km only .. since 15.000km no problems with burned/melted parts.

it's this: http://www.amazon.de/NOMA-REFLEX-PS-Isolierung-Wan...

here is my example: left/ airbox completly covered and little to the right all what shines "silver" ..

5m / 0.5m / 3mm thick for € 11.00 ...
