Evening chaps,

Some of you will have seen my post a couple of weeks ago about my new JLC Master Control Date. It is a 1999 model with a 37mm case.

The watch came with the JLC metal bracelet and an OEM ostrich strap. i really don't like the s/s strap, though the ostrich is perfect for summer. I fancied something a little darker for office wear and after much searching, I settled on a Camille Fournet strap.

As the strap ends had to be curved to best suit the case, I had to order a custom made strap.

The specs are:

Alligator (Square)
Matte Grey
19mm/16mm
3mm thick
Lined with tan leather
Machine stitched with a matching thread (to save costs)

Price: 193 Euro, delivered.

A pricey thing, but cheaper than OEM. I went for grey as I wanted something a little more interesting than plain black. It was remarkable that I ordered the strap last Wednesday and FedEx delivered it this morning- not bad for a custom made strap.

The quality is at least as good as OEM- i think CF used to make the OEM. The matte finish means that the lovely silver dial isn't fighting with anything, and the darker shade makes the red date pointer (the red crescent) really stand out.

I'll get a stingray strap from ABP next, and I'm very happy with this.

That looks great. Interesting idea with the grey colour, certainly a good choice.
