I have to remove my gearbox and while it's all dismatled I was thinking of getting the prop shaft balanced.
Does anyone have any first hand advice on where I might have this done?
Many thanks and regards

My father did mine he does it for a living. If it falls though give me a shout and I can pass the details of the company he works for over.

Mine took very little to balance, the guys said they are well made prop shafts, ( they tend to balance air craft gas turbine shafts)

Generally speaking does the Cerbera prop-shaft need balancing or was it done before going onto the car (wishful thinking perhaps)?

I have mine off currently and was going to give it a quick clean up and grease but if it needs balancing I may as well send it off for a service and balance.

They would /should have been done when first made. Mine took very little to re balance and I cost me nothing to have done. Plus my father greased and painted it for me all part of the service smile

I had my stock prop shortened and balanced by Dave Mac props, the bearing closest the box gave in after around 5 years, so cant really complain at that! smile

Apols for the thread hi-jack but your alloys are the nicest aftermarket ones I've seen on a Cerb, what are they?

I think I put details on the following thread, they are Ultralite Atec.

Should be getting the prop shaft back from Dave Mac Props in Coventry tomorrow. UJ's were perfectly fine so just a rebalance. He was recommended by CTS and the only place I could find that was open on Saturday morning!

£45 balance £15 delivery + Vat.
I'm not sure how much it was out by.
The rear seal on my t5 worked its way loose and I lost half a litre of atf.
So I got the prop rebalanced and the diff rebuilt and ploybushed as there must be a bit of resonance somewhere along the driveline. Hope it eliminates the issue.
