Lease extension freshwater properties

My MIL is purchasing a flat, the vendors are extending the lease as part of the sale. The process for the lease extension was started 14 months ago we belive.

6 weeks ago it was confirmend that cleared funds have been received for the lease extension and we are just waiting for a signiture from one of the directors of Freshwater properties (the lease holder)
Trouble is we're still waiting.

Meanwhile MIL is in limbo, temporary accomodation and furniture in storage. All we can get out out of the solicitors is they have chased it all is in place, but the person they need to speak to (sign it off presumably) is out of the office. No one can even suggest a time scale.

I understand the vendor has chased them along with the solicitors. What can we do? I find it hard to believe that a signitory is out of the office for 6 weeks and how they can have such a cavalier attitude.

Any help or advice appreciated.

Why not buy an Indemnity to cover the lease extension not happening. Move in, save costs and if the lease extension does not materialise claim on the indemnity.
