Most buyers never use low range. Makes perfect sense to offer a 2 speed transfer case as an option, just as they have on a new Sport. On all the orders that I have written on new V6 Sports where the extra duty package is an option nobody has specced it. Other than that, looking as smart as ever.

Perhaps your buyers would be better off with a 5 Series estate, or a Kia Sorento, or something else which isn't a LAND Rover. As silly as buying a wetsuit with "Do not use in water" on the label.Surely the joke off-roader mantle should be assumed by Jaguar who have no relevant reputation to swiftly and efficiently destroy.

^This and personally, having owned two D3's, I don't like the re-badging and think it better left as "Land Rover".Even so, there will still be people who assume it says "Range Rover" - I note that most non-enthusiasts call refer to my car as such.

No. The Discovery will remain 'Land Rover' branded rather than 'Range Rover'. The Freelander, Defender and Discovery will remain 'Land Rover'. bakerstreet said:

Yes. As in badged Land Rover across the bonnet, rather than Discovery. There will be more than one Discovery model apparently. A Range Rover is still a Land Rover.

Your point is?Land Rover makes Range Rovers. Range Rover is now a sort-of Land Rover sub-brand with a range of vehicles. Land Rover makes Discoveries. Discovery will be a sort-of sub-brand with a range of vehicles.
Why not see what the LR global brand director thinks?

Discovery, Defender and Freelander go under the Land Rover brand. They even have 'Range Rover' on the wheel centres and the steering wheels. The Evoque, RRS and FFRR does have the Land Rover oval on the rear boot.
I couldn't give a stuff what name they put across the bonnet.
Land Rover may change their mind about the branding and the discovery gets its own individual identity. They changed their mind on the DC100 concept.

Did you even read what I wrote?Discovery is going to be a range of Land Rover models, just like Range Rover is.
Range Rover wheel centres are all now back to Land Rover, the oval has returned to the rear after a brief absence.

IME the Dicso and Defender are very different solutions, but are both true Land Rovers.
