Maserati Ghibli Preview

Join us at PHHQ for an exclusive preview of this exciting new car

PistonHeads and Maserati have joined forces to offer a small selection of PistonHeads readers the opportunity to attend a private viewing of the brand new Ghibli, taking place on Wednesday September 25 at our HQ in Teddington, Middlesex. On the night you will have the opportunity to peruse the car at your leisure and in addition you’ll also get the chance to listen to talks from key members of the Maserati team as they detail how the car came to be.

Numbers for the event are limited but the guest list is open to all. We will choose 40 guests from all who apply to join us so please get in touch if you would like to be considered. If you own any of the following vehicles we would be particularly keen to hear from you

  • Mercedes-Benz CLS
  • Audi A7
  • BMW 6 Series
  • Mercedes-Benz E-Class
  • BMW 5 Series
  • Audi A6
  • Jaguar XF

On the night we plan to allow you plenty of time to view the car in addition to being talked around it by key members of the Maserati UK team and we also want to hear (and film) your thoughts on the car for a future PistonHeads article. It’s a landmark car for Maserati, a toe into the waters of new territories, and they believe the PH verdict is essential.

To express your interest in attending please complete the following form no later than 12.00 on Wednesday September 18.

The evening will be full of the glamour you would expect from Maserati and as such we request that guests follow a smart casual dress code and in return we will provide food, drink and a shiny new Maserati Ghibli to pore over.

We look forward to welcoming you on the night.

Sounds fun but it would help if you had a basic location so people can decide if they would even be able to make it should they be picked!!

there was one of these in Cardiff bay during the extreme sailing series, had a look around, looks nice inside but the outside is a hideous gash up or a melted infinity saloon thing and a audi A6. no where near as nice as the original quatropporti, and i wouldn't choose one over a A7 or a 6 series.

looked cheap compared the the RR sport and FFFRR they had about 100 yards away.

Not quite.

We want PHers verdict for a future story, they can say what they like about the car to us at the event. The chap doing the speech is a Maserati man, involved with the car, not a marketeer or salesperson and his job is to tell us things we didn't know. All in all it has been two or three months in the making.

But anyway, you know better...

Even if it was just a marketing launch, whats wrong with that?

Do you want them to sell cars? You know, new ones, so we have cheap second hand ones a few years down the road we can say are better value than new cars of the day.

Not sure I'm allowed at these PH preview events since I told the Jaguar Marketing man and Mike Cross that the new XJ they had there was nice but it was a shame about the st brown leather.

Maserati had a couple of these at Carfest south.

Nice car. Long wheelbase makes the rear pretty roomy. Some people think it has something of a Hyundai around the styling , but in the flesh it is handsome enough.

I only wish they made a shooting brake version. "Fetch me my Maserati Shooting Brake" is something I'd like to be able to say one day...

To those of us who would not be prepared to travel the 650 miles to London could you just get Maserati to cut the krap and tell us when we can buy one and how much it will cost.

To be fair, it shouldn't look as nice as a quattroporte since it's 1/2 the price of the qp.

I suspect I'm going to have a hard time telling them apart in the wild. It's been years since I've seen a qp.
I hope with the lower price, Ghiblis are more common.

Quite telling that they don't want any existing Maserati owners coming to the event.....

Whats the point of turning the event into some sort of focus group when they've finished and built the car. A bit late now to change anything!

It's tragic that the Ghibli name is sullied this way.

From this:

To some average looking mass-produced Eurobox saloon that will be worth pence in less than a decade.

Go to love PH.

Maserati launch a new model to take on the 'boring' German cars PH'ers complain about so much and invite people along to give their opinions and the predominant response is negativity and derision.

Nice work.

And to the guy above who's complaining about it sullying the Ghibli name, didn't the last one look like this?

Hardly new then...

Does a w124 e class owner count (with an a8 on the side?).
