Chris's usual video schedule has been tweaked this week, for reasons that should become clear shortly. Suffice to say he's up to something right now and if it comes off it'll be worth the watch...

For the time being you can enjoy Chris's view of the Frankfurt motor show, one of those rare events in the motoring hack's annual calendar when we have to actually scrub up and dress like grown-ups. Even Chris. Yes, welcome back 'that' suit, last seen at Le Mans.

Our liveblog and news hub are still there if you need to catch up on the stories from the show floor but you probably did that last week. Here you can enjoy Chris's more personal perspective, which included a long tramp across to his good friends on the Ferrari stand to film the 458 Speciale ... only to find it hadn't been unveiled yet and was still under its sheet. You'll be hoping the response to this discovery didn't make the final cut.

Anyway, enjoy the vid and look out for something additional and rather exciting soon if all goes according to plan.

I've not watched the TestaRossa video yet, but I was starting to fancy Monkey in that F40 getting nailed at Anglesea. That photo has me feeling more like my old self, which is a relief.

On the BMW i8, surely that should be 2.5 litres of fuel per 100km (about 113mpg), not per km which is just over 1mpg.

It is odd tha JLR are messing about with brands. But they know that they can now compete with Germany in making models that are instantly desirable to 'certain types'.

The show was going well until the last two he featured.

She's obviously lost and homeless and looking into that car to see if it's a suitable place to shelter for the night. I think it'll be OK to offer her refuge at home for the weekend and take her to a police station first thing on Monday.

I never used to be a fan of Monkey Harris, but I am beginning to like his style. Not sartorially, that suit is truly terrible.

He sums up the show perfectly. It's getting tedious, the girls are always fine and some of the cars are interesting. I personally wouldn't spend my own money to go, but I have been paid to attend the last two.

Interesting point about the brand overlap at JLR. There has always been the discussion within in the industry, that parent Company Tata, may one day sell off one of the brands.

Glad I'm not hearing things, was thinking it was maybe a step back for hybrid tech. Thanks for clearing it up saves me googling.

Dangerous strategy. Then you'd have a competitor doing similar products knowing everything about how you do it, i.e. you'd have no real competitive advatage in terms of engineering and manufacturing nous.

Love it. What a great way to waste 8 minutes!!!!!

But that suit? FFS monkey sort it out. You look almost as bad as that god-awful Lexus Concept thing.

I think that Harris should take over Top Gear. Think about it.

An hour every week of Harris grinning like a loon every time he gets into a car he likes & simple unscripted wit in his commentary.

His presenting style, unlike his suits, is excellent & always makes me smile. My 8 year old son thinks Harris is brilliant & he loves the fact that Harris is known as Monkey.

He cant understand why he is called Monkey but he loves it.
