I have quite a few of the M&S Sartorial shirts for work and in the last 2 weeks the elbow has ripped on two different shirts. Anyone else had this problem with M&S Sartorial shirts?

It seems odd, but may be the elbows are very thin and the weakest point in the arm.

Yep, one of mine some are particularly thin cotton, pink checked one it was, wore thin and then caught it on something, always that or the collars to go first.

Same here - stopped buying them around 6 months ago, quality had got that poor. Mainly fraying on the collars and cuffs.

No problems here - dont bother with any other makes any more.. Seem to last ages!

Weirdly a few of us based in another office, went through a phase of 'shirt elbow' over a period of 6 months. Eventually put it down to the cleaners spraying our desks with some form of bleach!! Oddly never happened since we changed offices.

Spooky!

I often wear through the elbows of my work shirts - regardless of brand, I simply put it down to me dragging my elbows across my desk to be honest.

Yep - had the same experience here. It was something on the desks.

Another Sartorial shirt dresser here - some of mine are 18 months old and I have had no issues so far...

I know this isn't a shirt but I got back from lunch and noticed a huge 3-inch diameter wear hole in the pocket of my suit trousers. I have no idea how that got there. It's really big, the sort of damage you would expect if you had gone dogging and some 16-stone woman had been grinding away on top of it while it had become trapped on a gravel driveway.

Funny you should raise the issue of M&S quality.

I bought some reasonably smart work trousers just after Christmas, one pair had to go back after a week as the stitching was coming apart at the seam next to the pocket. The pair that replaced them have just given up the ghost, took them out the washing machine tonight and could see daylight through the arse seam.

Definite quality control issues at M&S.

Tried one a year or two ago and it wore out very quickly, both at the collar and cuff area. The Lewin ones i have are OK, the CT Shirts are ok too

I bought a couple of M&S Sartorial shirts and was not very happy with the quality. Buttons were more fragile than expected and collars and cuffs wore out quickly. I felt that better quality can be had for the same price.

I've got a few of these.
Very erratic quality. One is possibly the best fitting, best made shirt I own right now whilst another appears to have been cut and stitched by Stevie Wonder. The sleeves aren't straight, nor the same length (I kid you not)

Ive bought a few things from M&S of late. the wool mix trousers now look shabbier than a pair of primark specials after no more than a handfull of washes. Brown suede shoes replaced yesterday after one week as the staples bonding the heel were coming through the padding - an interesting attempt at al fresco accupuncture.

I am fast forming the opinion that M&S are selling shoddy goods and trading on their 'quality' name.

The dress item I bought from M&S was a pair of shoes which gave me a blister within the first day which has scarred before creasing horribly all over.
I haven't bought any clothing from there since and those shoes went straight into the bin.

I've had exactly that problem. I find wearing jeans is a better solution when dogging.
