I'm getting lots if gastric symptoms and feel I may have ibs or Crohns. Cramps are ruining my brain and am not able to join family at restaurant. See specialist next week. This is really pissing me off.

Had Crohn's for almost 20 years now.

Hopefully specialist gets you sorted out - Crohn's is notoriously difficult to diagnose.

Any questions you have just ask.

Its bascially symptoms of gastritis with absolutely no trigger. Any food can do it. Cramps begin in stomach soon after eating...chronic aches rather than sharp. Initially lasted only 45 mins but record is 7 hours. Usually happens later in the day, never at breakfast apart form today. Its now 5pm and have been pain free for 30 mins. Cereal seems to be the only thing to be comfortable. I'v ehad to leave the family/friends in so many restaurants to walk home to vomit. Endoscopy showed nothing except 6cm sliding hiatus hernia but I dont get reflux so counts that out. Family have Coeliac but I can handle all breads without instant pain, whereas mine is totally bloody random. If I could control it or predict it then I could manage. As I said, seeing gatro doc next week. Will see what he says.

Worthwhile stopping basically all solid food for a day or 2, then slowly introducing different foods gradually to see if there is a certain type of food that can trigger.

Done this often over the years when suffering a flare-up.
Sometimes find a diet of tap water (unchilled) and dry toast for a day or 2 can help alleviate symptoms backed up with a course of steroids from GP.

When Crohn's is active I find some foods leave me in agony, even the blandest of food, yet at the same time I can demolish a spicy Indian takeaway.

Each case of Crohn's is also individual and varied.
I know someone who was diagnosed, took a month of steroids and had no more problems since.
I have, on the other hand, had 3 sections of intestine removed. As a result of taking so many steroids at such high dosage I now have osteoporosis, and am also taking a form of chemotherapy treatment to try and regulate the symptoms.
Over the years I have also had to give up jobs and change career paths twice.

Hopefully your specialist can get the bottom of the problem for you. A barium meal is often a better method than endoscopy to show up any narrowing of intestines.
