Im heading to the show this Sunday, never been before (been to NEC plenty)

Is anyone else going? They have a 'dream rides' you make a 'donation' to charity (not sure if there is a minimum) and you get to take a passenger ride in a classic car of your choosing, im keeping my fingers crossed for a Cobra!

Any other PH'ers attending?

What are you looking forward too?

Im a wee bit excited about it!

Dave, its the Sporting Bears who run the charity rides and they are a great bunch. I have helped out on their stand for a couple of years although I am not a member.

The rides are 'priced' so £1 won't buy you a Cobra ride. Depending on the cars you choose the prices range from about £25 to £200 if IIRC. The cheapest being for say, an MG Midget (now waiting for Spurting Bear AKA 'na' to pop up and defend his lttle gem) to the £200 being for a ride in a Jaguar XJ220 (yes, really).

Make sure you go over to the Sporting Bear stand early as the more popular cars get booked up all day quite quickly as the time slots available fill up.

Take plenty of cash or your credit card as once you see what's there you may want a few rides.

Enjoy!

OOH,

Didnt realise there was a 'minimum donation'

I was gonna put £20 in (£10 for me and £10 for Mrs) if its £50 for a go in a midget.. Il have to think about it.

Thanks for the heads up about that!

I'm going tomorrow.
Went last year, it's probably the best car show I've been to in ages tbh...I have a real want for a classic car in my life sometime soon something like an Austin Healey, MGB GT, Stag, TR5, Cheeky little alfa spider (S1/S2/S3) etc.etc cloud9
Last year was a smashing day out, I love cars/bike of pretty much all eras

Be aware that the A34 is closed above the M4 this weekend (and next)

I thought about going today... but its £27 to get in on the door, add the parking, train ticket... for me £27 is too much to get into a show.

This is the thing, everyone says "pop along and say hi"....yeah ok all well and good.

You get to the show and there are half a dozen or more people with each stand all chatting among themselves, so you either interrupt them and ask nerd "Hello are you xyz from Pistonheads?" or you leave them to chat among themselves.

I for one am not asking dozens of "normal" people is they are from the internet! nerd
