The 550 isnt about that, it seems a bit of a mismatch. Put the little boxy upstart against an F50 or an Enzo...the cars that are meant to be quick.

This is pretty stupid.

The Gallardo has more power and better traction off the line.

You would'nt expect anything other than that.

Kind of puzzled by the Lambo chat forum however. Reads like a teen age boys games chatroom...

Are the Lamborghini drivers on the forum challenged in the trouser department ? They seem to be trying hard to make up for something...

Not cool. You would'nt get Aston Martin owners talking like that ...

My point exactly.
Why not put a link to the video here instead of making us read that crap?
Weren't you banned from another forum for citing simlar provocations?

Nice vid , i find it funny that the 55o owners are all getting out of their prams over this how you can say this is not what the 550 is about

Any 550 owner who assumes his car is the fastest on the road is a baffoon.

You just won't find me winding up other car owners who have slower machines, that's all. Pretty sad and stems from an inferiority complex that creates a desire to belittle anything other than what you own.

I'm sure you're all nice guys in real life

Actually, its not what the 550 is about.

To be honest I liked the Gallardo but I am being put off the car, by the mindset of its owners and the place where Audi are putting it in the market.

The Gallardo is special because it was one of the first cars in the class to offer 500 plus usable HP through its 4WD.

The result is one VERY fast car, but one that is also very easy to drive and forgiving. Its taken on the Porsche TT and clearly does a great job.

But I am mindful of a comparison test I saw between the 360 Ferrari and the Gallardo.

What was fastest? Gallardo

What was the easiest to drive fast? Gallardo

What is the newest? Gallardo

What has the best handling, and is more easily slideable? Ferrari

Now for me the last point is everything, and it backs up my ( admittedly limited to the track ) experience of both cars.

I have driven Gallardo, 360, 550 and 575. No doubt that the Gallardo is the fastest, but I would still pick any of the Ferrari's over it because I felt that if I wanted too, the car would let me have more fun with it.

The Gallardo , with its 4wd, had too much mechanical grip and so for me was less fun to drive.

After all, anyone can push the accelerator down and go faster if the car has more power. It takes a proper driver to be in a position to use the power and play with the chassis in the corners and drift the car around a bit. For me ( and I'm a pretty crap circuit driver ) , the Gallardo simply does not do that as well or as easily as a Ferrari.

hardly suprising!

The gallardo is a new design this year, the 550 was replced by the 575 a couple of years ago and is probably at least 7 years old in production terms (Still bloody good looking though !)

Given this and the horepower wars over the last 5 years then if the gallardo didn't leave the 550 standing then lambo would have failed miserably!

Gallardo vs F430 on the track is what I'm interested in thanks - like v like!

(but I'd still have a 550 over both of the above for the noise alone!)

The site is occupied by many lambo and exotic car owners, who are out to have a good time. not a bunch of uptight clowns. If you dont like it, dont read it.

In the sense of the Gallardo vs Ferrari, Ferrari hasnt made a decent car since the F40. With its latest versions on the horizon, inmo, the company is DEAD.

Allan are you being serious? The 430 hasn't excited me so much about a new Ferrari for a long, long time. I was indifferent to the 360, I thought the classic look of the 355 etc was gone. I warmed it eventually but was instantly in love with the 430. Its beautiful.

Even the 612 is a car that I like more and more. These are real growers, I like that...they are fresh, you have to appreciate them. The Enzo got slated too, but in truth its quite beautiful and the design in far more radical than say, the Murci.

Horsepower isnt everything. People dont buy classic Ferrari's because they have 600hp and 4WD. Its about the whole package, the history, the passion rossa: it would seem to be something Lamborghini have been jealous of since their inception.

Both are great, but boy-racing the big and beautiful 550 againt the Gallardo doesn't do anything for me and proves nothing. Its a gentlemens car designed to cruise in style and comfort, it does that very well. It would seem that the sophistication is lost on those Lambo owners.

Allanc, honestly, im glad the Gallardo does nothing for you. anyone who thinks the 612 is a nice looking car, inmo needs to have his head checked. And then to add that the 430 is exciting after not being thrilled with the 360? LOL The 430 looks virtually identical to the 360. Ferrari is dying...quickly. The list of Ferraris ive owned is long, one thing i will add, is that of all the Ferraris ive owned, i couldnt care to have any of them back.

Signed in true Allanlambo fashion. You really are nothing but an offensive, unappreciative troll.
