Hi There is already ready a thread here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... but I thought you bikers may like to see this.

Guy Martin - Speed - How to make things go really fast, will be featuring speed at its very best, will soon be airing on Channel 4, from December the 29th on consecutive Sundays, at 8pm.

I built the bike for the show to attempt to break British speed record on over 110 mph.
Here are the first pics.

More here, thanks for looking.

My six year old was hooked but I sent him to bed before the end. Fascinating program, not enough shots of Laura Trotts lycra clad bum though.

Watching it on Ch4+1 now, just finished.
Seems to me that it would have been better to set the record on the tarmac runway? More stable etc? He hit over 100 on the test run, now I don't know how fast/hard/much runway was pushed/used but it seemed like it would have been much easier to see/pedal on tarmac than on sand? Appreciate that cars/bikes need a very long run up, so the sands is a better place. But since Guy was getting a tow it seemed like he could reach his top speed in a shorter distance than an unaided car going for its top speed.
