Hope somebody can help.

These 2 Lights illuminate along with the tyre pressure warning as soon as I get up to a certain speed and stay on until I turn the car off. If i then restart the car they are off until I get up to that speed again.

Does this sound like the ESP death I have been reading about?

I did knock a wheel on the back road the other week so thought it may be needs balancing or is buckled and is putting the lights on.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Sounds like it could be the common ABS pump but you really need to get the codes read first

Thats another thing. It doesn't log any faults to read.

Are you looking for codes after restarting or when the lights are still on?

I've seen the fault you describe with an ESP light once when alignment on a car was absolutely miles out.

I have tried with both the lights on and off.

I didn't hit the curb that hard and the car still drives true

On the way to work this morning I had a test of the ESP and it kicked in when it should.

I drove up the motorway and the lights came back on and were on when I arrived at work. I tried the ESP again and it didnt cut in.

Strange

What are you checking for fault codes with?

It would be very unusual for nothing to show up in VCDS!

Have you tried resetting the TPMS? Long press on the button with the engine running should do it. Set the tyre pressures first though.

I have tried resetting the TPMS but to no avail.

I have an OBD reader and Torque on my mobile which has always worked fine. Maybe I need to go to a decent indy though.

Torque will only give you engine fault codes.

You need a scan with VCDS or similar.

Got hold of a scanning tool and it came back with this

00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Rear Left (G46): Signal Outside Specifications
00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Rear Left (G46): Electrical Fault in Circuit
Possible Causes
Open Circuit in Wiring from/to ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Rear Left (G46)
ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Rear Left (G46) faulty
Possible Solutions
Check Wiring from/to ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Rear Left (G46)
Check ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Rear Left (G46)

Does this sound lime a sensor or maybe the ring on the hub?

Mine has literally just started doing this, hit about 55mph and the three lights come on, stop and restart and off they go until you hit about 55.

It's going in for a service next week, but was really hoping it's not the ABS pump.
