This is all about price..considering the proc cee'd is 24k, I can't see how this will be any where under 30k..at that price, in this country it is doomed to failure..there are too many aspirational buyers in that segment that are looking for a badge..there are not enough enthusiasts to support this car for a UK release.
Precisely what I was going to post. The misconception is that Kia are a budget brand when really they aren't.

For example, a Kia Ceed 1.6 GDI is £17,200. A Ford Focus 1.0T Ecoboost Zetec is £17,800. Source

I would put my house on the GT4 coming in at a price point just below what the Mustang 2.3T will come in at. In other words, not as cheap as people think.

Very excited for it though, more coupés on the market, especially RWD ones is a good thing.

Nice looking car and I hope it makes it. Yes it does remind me of that SAAB coupe that died when the company folded.

Is it possible that Kia could acually fill the gap which was left by SAAB. If they continue to make well built, quirky cars with an added bit of sportiness things can only look good for the brand.

And straight away, there's £500's worth of equipment on the Kia, that isn't on the Ford.

There's also several other pieces of equipment listed as 'standard' on the Kia, and 'Pack Only' on the Ford.

Take them in to consideration, the difference would be significantly more than £600. But hey, why let facts get in the way?

The looks are a bit hit and miss, but from the specs, it will be a pretty revolutionary car I think.

I'm sure it will be a hoot to drive and the price will be relatively reasonable, being that it's not wearing a German badge!

I see a bit of stratos in the front bonnet from a three quarter angle. The way the wheel arches stick up.

Wonder if this is Kia's attempt to homologate a new race car either for Tudor USCR or WEC or WTCC? Either way, build it!

It's more a rehash of vw's Eco racer from 2005.

It's wider and the sills are different, but look at all the similarities everywhere else

That's the story I was going to link. The design has been talked about for a while, it's was originally by the chap responsible for the the Audi TT and VW beetle.
