My missus thinks she would be a great interior designer so we had to watch this. Watching one of the episodes and I mentioned I liked a colour used so she decided the bedroom would be redecorated in that colour!
Not sure about the winners a couple of times - Almshouses being especially wrong.

It's been interesting (ish) but...
1) Gray, can I have some gray with my gray please. I know it was "trending" last year as the mags were full of Scandinavian themed houses/rooms painted with gray on gray but you can almost predict that each competitor will wield the gray brush at some point
2) Not entirely convinced by the execution of the concept. If I hired an interior designer I'd not expect them to present the dredded mood board then like superman rip off their clothes to reveal a set of overalls and a paintbrush. I'd expect them to perhaps know/recommend people who would execute their design and it would be good to see what the competitors actual project management is like
3) Must be tough having the two presenters lurking in the background during the initial presentation
4) Liked the winner last night although I thought the woman who had the idea about zones pushed him close, the guy who lived in a van ("I'm between houses right now" and the winner of the 1930s sunroom make over
It's better than Changing Rooms!

I think it should be banned from our screens for introducing the word 'up-cycling' to the English language. It's just Changing Rooms with a competitive element and does nothing for me whatsoever. The pretentious garbage spouted by the two judges is laughable and can't that woman stand upright without crossing her legs?
'Great British Interior Design Challenge' - even the title smacks of desperation, it's just cheap day-time viewing tat. How it got a prime time slot is beyond me.

Oh wow you painted some furniture and then distressed it with a scotch pad … wow, thats creative, its not like anyone has done that before! Welcome to the 90's!
