Just had some excitement at the office...

Bit of context, there's a severe shortage of spaces on our estate, and people normally park like tts and block the road. Lorries normally get stuck, and cars normally get moved.

Except today, 3 arctics were backed up, and the police arrived. No idea if they happened upon the scene or were called, but there's 10 cars now with these notices on the window

Can't see anymore than this, and a few of us are interested to know what the notice is. Estate is private land, so not sure what powers the police have to ticket people, even if they are obiously being twunts about parking.

Anyone ever issued one of these that could tell me the jist of the contents?

At a guess it's a polite but firm warning to buffer off and not park like that.

The wording seems to say somethibg like 'reason to believe an offence has been commited'
And may continue to say 'but we won't pursue it if you go away.'

Very strange that the police got involved at all if it's private land. Would be even more surprised if it's anything enforceable.
Either way, don't be tempted to have a look yourself, removing the ticket (if you're not the owner of the car) is an offence.

But is it "private" land? Is it not under the same system of being private, but publically accessible? You know, the rule which means you can be done for drink-driving in your own field.

ETA reading that back it sounds like I've been banned for DD on private land and am bitter about it - far from it, never done it, just asking the questions.

Off Topic.
You can only be done for drink driving on your own field if the field is open to the public.
If it's totally closed off to the public then you can do what you like.

Estate is private land,
If it is private land why to arctics need to access it?

Or are you refering to a trading/industrial estate?

What makes you suspect that it's from the Police?

Industrial/trading estate. Is a through road, but 'private land'. There was a big hoo ha when the landlords tried to threaten clampers which was laughed off due to the many 'private property' signs scattered around.

The arctics will be driving through to the units at the back.

I haven't touched them due to the threat of a bking for doing so, dont worry! Was just intrigued to know how scary they would have been. Sounds like they are just threat-o-grams.

Waiting for the inevitable email from the facilities manager, will see what gets mentioned.

Is Globeside Business Park in Marlow if anyone knows it...

Because the police were present, then they appeared...

Unless lorry drivers keep a stash of them in the cab...

Well, that was assuming it is a police fixed penalty.
It's an offence for any person to remove or interfere with a notice fixed to a vehicle unless it's the person in charge of the vehicle, or on their authority, or the person liable for the notice.

What if the dodgy parking was on private land, but the artics backed up on to the Queen's Highway? Presumably the police would act against the lorry driver causing the obstruction on the Highway who would then have to contact the landowner.

It will be a Non-endorsable FPN I suspect.

It will give the details of the car and the place.

Then a nice little statement on the offence so believed to have been committed.

Then a helpful guide on the value to which the owner must fill the coffers of the state and how to perform said act plus a suggestion as to what misfortune may befall said owner if they don't handover the required coins of the realm forthwith.
