RE: McLaren P1: Pic Of The Week
Friday 14th February 2014

It took Chris nearly three thousand words to sum up the McLaren P1 but a car as complex and astonishing as that warranted them all. Having digested all that, read the press pack and looked at the pics you'll be looking forward to the video, right? In the meantime we've picked out a couple of photos from the launch event to liven up your desktop. Thing is, we really couldn't decide which was better. So being generous types we'll let you have both.

McLaren P1: Pic Of The Week
It's Valentine's day so here's a desktop pic of the car that stole Harris's heart

So we've got a long shot of the P1 at pace on Yas Marina circuit, blue flame erupting from its exhaust. And we've got a close-up of it crossed up, heat haze from vapourised tyres and from its twin-turbo V8 shimmering away. Two for one, PH style!

Discussion
the more I look at this car, the more I love the way it looks. I Wasn't so sure at first, didn't like the like the way the rear drooped in profile and wasn't mad about the front end, but the detailing is simply amazing. Can't wait to see one up close. I especially love the rear lights.

Anyone who says the 918 is a better car than the P1 really is a numpty.
Anyone who makes a decision on which is the better car without having driven either, and having read an article or 2, is a bigger numpty.
So, which did you prefer to drive?
PS: a personal preference cannot be wrong.
