Who makes the current Aston battery conditioners?
Discussion
I have a brand new Aston Martin conditioner still in its box with instruction book which I bought for my DB9.
Sold the Car last year and never used the conditioner.
Identical to this one. Has a plug which fits into a socket in the boot .

Sell it to you if you make me a reasonable offer !

Can anyone provide the definitive answer as to which model of ctek or other brands to use taking in to account the amphr rating of the battery. What are the critical factors to ensure reliable and adequate performance under all scenarios. Maximisation of profits by all participants in the supply chain seems to be the order of the day with this brand rather than technical excellence and value for money for it's besotted customers.

When I read up this before buying mine there wasn't a definitive answer as such more a strong preference. The CTEK ones seem to be the best brand and AM use a rebadged version. You need one that is a conditioner as well as just a trickle charger or charger as it will take care of any eventuality and then pick an amperage that will determine the charge time if the battery is low. The ctek ones are, probably all makes of them are now if you spend over £30, and after that the differences are pretty much just grunt. The low amperage ones are fine for maintaining a healthy condition on a car but would take forever to charge a large battery from flat.
I ended up at the 5 Amp version as I was happy to pay an extra 10 over the one below (I think it was the 3amp which was pretty much the recommended starting point for car battery charging) as it gave more punch knowing the electronics in it would only use it when it was safe to do so. The next one up (7 amp?) seemed to be getting a lot more expensive and for cars a bit irrelevant. If I had a truck I might also use it on then I'd go for the 7.
That was my logic in the absence of any hard evidence to the contrary. I believe the aston one is the 3 amp version for 3x the price of the ctek branded version.
