I have just bought my car here in Abu Dhabi and looking to swap out the crappy standard fit head unit and fit a nice Alpine aftermarket so I can use Bluetooth and iPod etc.

Does anyone know of a good place to get the stereo and maybe some speakers fitted which is reliable and will do as good a job as possible.

Would it be best to buy in the UK and get my WIfe to bring the stereo over when she visits next or are there good places to buy from over here in Abu Dhabi, I cant seem to find anywhere but might not be searching correctly. Anyone got any personal recomendations?

Megy,

What car have you bought??

If you find a head-unit I am sure we can fit it together its not that difficult. I have seen them for sale in dg sharaf and e-max. There is also Yellow Hat in Dubai....if you don't fancy Mussafah.

I have a Subaru WRX, still waiting to take delivery but the standard stereo is prety dire.

Fitting the stereo is not an issue, I have done thee before but its the speakers/amp (if I get an amp) with the wiring with limited tools that I have over here.

Guys, did anyone get to a successful conclusion on this as I'm looking to swap out the crappy old unit in my old GMC pick-up for something iPod friendly.
