I don't have to walk too far to name one. 2001, No country for old men, Master&commander to name a few and different. But the real thing, the one that gives me goosebumps, is this.

For some reason I can't even name.

So what's yours?

Would it be too obvious to say The Italian Job.

Or Possibly The Cannonball Run.

SPR was the first combat film that sounded 'proper' imho and the opening was stunning.

Lord of War is cool.

Dirty harry. The music really adds to the tension. Have a look.

I might be wrong, but was it FC Kahuna in the beginning?

Ooh. Top of my head, Cannonball Run and Transformers The Movie. Seeing a planet in total peace going into utter bedlam.

I shall return with more once I can think of them smile

It was FC Kahuna to over the opening credits. The film starts with the RS6 overlaid with She sells Sanctuary as it bombs down the road to Stoke Park.

Going back a bit - David Lean's "Great Expectations". Spooky black-and-white graveyard scene on the marshes when Pip first meets Magwitch. Eerie and very atmospheric.

Either Batman the Dark Night or The Dark Night Rises; both have awesome opening scenes.

Dropped in to post both of these, though Lord of War is the opening credits, if we're being pedantic!
