Vantage GT For North America

Starts at $99,900, which is Carrera S Money. I think this is a great move. AM needs a volume car. You get all the good stuff - the power, the suspension, the exhaust. Some of the expensive extras are going to be stripped out but it's a lot of car for the money.

Thanks for that!
Looks great in the green and yellow trim, hopefully stripping out the expensive stuff might save a few kg as well..?
Honda did a similar thing with the run-out models of the NSX; chopped 20k off the price and added the toys before going out of production. As nice as this car is, it's probably the death knell of the Vantage.

Hmmm, that looks familiar:
Vantage N430
I guess the Seppos don't understand/know/care about the Nurburgring.

I think that's what many have been wanting, assuming it doesn't outprice itself. I should probably have looked more closely but can you confirm this is an official AM product, rather than an aftermarket bodge? I'm also unsure as to the price relative to the more standard models....being in US dollars and all. Looks great though.
I bloody love that green and yellow. The Speedway White version looks brilliant too.
It's a smart move indeed. The C2S inevitably needs / gets specced with a fair amount of options, so in reality they've probably priced the Aston at $20-25k below what the average C2S rolls off the forecourt for.
It's a manual, it's reasonably sensibly priced for an AM (V8VS are circa $145k MSRP), and it's a bit silly. Perfect.

Well, it's on the AM website. It's 'just' the N430 that we saw released a few weeks ago (with one additional GT decal along the side).

I'm not totally sure that's right. The N430 is what, £89,000? This is £60,000. It's 'just' the N430 that we saw released a few weeks ago (with one additional GT decal along the side).
I'm not clear exactly what options have been deleted, but this car is less of a 'special edition' and more of a stripped-out 'get all the good stuff without the price tag'.

Can you spot the difference? I certainly can't. (Apart from the aforementioned GT decal).
The $100k/£100k is the usual US/UK price differential, I reckon.

You're probably right about the US/UK.The $100k/£100k is the usual US/UK price differential, I reckon.
GT doesn't have cruise control, Bluetooth or Satellite Radio which I believe are standard on the N430?

$99,900 does seem to be an extremely low price.
What tax is payable on new cars in USA?
Is the tax the same for imported cars, as for home produced vehicles?
Sales tax varies by state - here it's 7.25% which is probably somewhere close to the average, and yes - it's the same. What tax is payable on new cars in USA?

Though I'd expect to see some sort of accident in the parts bins goigg really cheap very soon for the UK!
Lets not forget 70-80% of production is exported so the UK market is not that important to AM

Not sure about that either. This photo of the GT seems to show both Bluetooth and cruise:GT doesn't have cruise control, Bluetooth or Satellite Radio which I believe are standard on the N430?
What does seem to be lacking from the GT pages (as compared to the N430 pages) are any photos of the lightweight seats. So if they aren't included, that would bring the cost down a bit.

I don't think the released photos are necessarily the actual product. The main photo on the site is of the N430. But I have it on good authority that the GT has had satellite radio, cruise and bluetooth deleted to get down to that price. What does seem to be lacking from the GT pages (as compared to the N430 pages) are any photos of the lightweight seats.
