Hello guys, just found this online...
'An interesting Aston Martin Vanquish prototype was recently spied undergoing testing at the incredible Nurburgring. Thanks to the host of testing equipment present on this particular Vanquish, it is obvious that the British marque is testing some new equipment. Some reports suggest that this could actually be a more potent variant of the Vanquish possibly dubbed the Aston Martin Vanquish S. It certainly seems quite possible that the British marque could be preparing an S version of the Vanquish considering that both the Rapide and V12 Vantage are available in S specification featuring some subtle visual changes as well as performance gains.'
'As it stands, the current Vanquish features Aston Martin’s famous 6.0-liter V12 engine delivering 565 hp at 6,750 rpm and 457 lb-ft of torque at 5,750 rpm. While these figures are identical to those delivered by the V12 Vantage S, that car is significantly smaller and lighter than the current Vanquish and is consequently, the fastest Aston Martin ever besides the exclusive One-77.
It certainly seems quite conceivable that Aston Martin would offer a Vanquish S variant tuned to deliver upwards of 600 hp. Such a car could also prove quite important in the history of Aston Martin considering the firm will be utilising forced induction AMG engines in the near future.'

Comedy. My comment was based on the price of the Vanquish quoted. I'm not sure what you are referring to?
£120K?
No.

If I had £100k or more to spend, and even more on the potential Vanquish II S, I'd go for a Vanquish I S.
i dont see what is comical about £120k for a late S now. one with about 5k on the clock was up for £130k a little while ago and sold very quickly.
any of them in good condition with low miles and history is a £100k+ car all day long.
as the man says, the last in a long history.
odd reality is i doubt i could afford to buy mine now. consider myself a very lucky boy.
more than 50 of us together back at NP next week. will be some noise when that lot start up for a road trip to the heritage barns. pretty amazing sight i would have thought, for those that like them.

The new Vanquish S will come with clear taillights, more aggressive bonnet vents and be available with a manual gearbox option. But you didn't hear it from me.
Where would the gear lever go? With the waterfall dash layout I doubt there is room for it.To put a manual into it would also require the chassis to be altered. Which we now know isn't easy - Vantage and DB9 can't meet the latest crash regulations.

A while back someone was posting on here about a 6.2 V12 AML engine with twin turbochargers. The poster stated that Cosworth had developed a working prototype. Perhaps Vanq II S would sport that powertrain??
The car in the film is registered with the normal engine capacity.
I looked, just in case there might be a clue.
No Mercedes low-emissions engines yet then.
