Hi all

After having a very worrying night last night can I just remind you all to ensure that you have everyone's emergency contact numbers, and that other's have a method of getting in touch with you.

Don't forget the numbers of your family's partners either, eg sister's boyfriend, brother's girlfriend etc etc.

Cheers

Yup - I make a point of having all such numbers in my phone.

Take it everything turned out alright in the end?

It's a little early to tell yet.

Basically someone attacked my sister at work (She works in a bank) They tried to set fire to her by covering her in petrol or lighter fluid or something like that.

Thankfully (understatement of the year) a couple of her colleagues were able to intervene before he was able to actually light it.

He was locked in a room - but managed to escape by breaking a window.

I assume that they wil be able to catch the er due to CCTV etc - but it's too early yet.

Like I say - the worst thing for my mum was that she was told by my sister's boyfriend but she wasn't then able to call anyone back as she didn't have any friends, neighbours or even his number to get further information.

Thanks Racylady - apparantly he touched a desk or window or something where few others do and so they are hopeful of being able to lift a print.

My sister went back in today for half a day to kind of get over the first major barrier - but I think she's still pretty shaken up.

The bank are being realy good about it and have already started making big changes to the offices - more CCTV in the private room - half glass doors etc etc, which is great, but part of me wonders why it wasn't there already.

Still - at least she is physically ok and she has a lot of people around her to take care of her.

Take good care of her, the emotional side may not kick in for a while.

Yeah, it might take a while before she realises just how close an escape she had.

Nottingham actually.

Don't get me started on the methods of revenge - it's amazing what your mind can come up with when you put your mind to it and you really, truly want to cause someone as much pain as possible before you kill them.

Like I say - best not start that!

Just in case for any Nottingham based PHers if you could keep your eyes open...

www.nottinghamshire.police.uk/news/thurs.htm#2

"Natwest bank incident
Police are hunting a man who asked for advice about investing money at a Nottingham bank and then squirted a flammable liquid over a female employee.

The woman was talking to the man in an interview room at NatWest’s Carrington bank on the corner of Hucknall Road and Mansfield Road, when she was squirted with the liquid.

Police say the man, who was calm and had made no threats, only became aggressive when the staff member screamed and a colleague intervened. The man was locked inside a room but escaped by smashing through toughened glass and climbing out of a window on to Mansfield Road.

It happened on Tuesday evening (Nov 30) around 4.30pm, shortly before closing time.

Detectives at Oxclose Lane today appealed for help in tracing the offender who is described as black, in his mid-30s and between 5 ft 10 and 6ft tall. He was medium to stocky build and spoke with a foreign accent. He was wearing black trousers, a black bomber-style jacket and black hat with flaps covering the ears. He was also carrying a rucksack.

Det Sgt Lee Young said: “The man asked for advice about investing money and was taken into a private interview room. He didn’t make any threats and the woman only noticed something was wrong when she felt the liquid being squirted on her. She was pretty shaken up by what happened.”

Anyone who saw a man fitting the description in the Carrington area on Tuesday evening is asked to contact Oxclose Lane CID on 0115 9670999 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

I know it's not the greatest description in the world but you never know...

Cheers

Kind Regards.
