I had three in one month a couple of years back!

Not a lot you can do about it...stick to the cleanest part of the roads, keep the pathway around your house swept as well as the edge of the road and of course your driveway / pathway

It hurts the wallet a lot less if you plug the tyre instead of replacing it. Rema Tip Top FTW. Ignore the stuff about 'it's only a temporary repair', it lasts for the life of the tyre. Not sure what the insurance company would have to say though..

I've died three times already today because of repaired tyres.

The last time I even took out a kitten as well...

I must be lucky.

never had a puncture in 6 years or riding 5 of which was every day as i didn't have a car or car licence.

did however, have some little scrote cut the valve on a front tyre on my old bike though

I did advanced training with RoSPA and haven't had a puncture since. I had two in the year before I started the training. I think it is related - I previously didn't notice a lot of things, including the road crud I used to ride over while filtering which is probably what gave me the punctures.
