Afternoon all,

Just in case anyone's interested, and because I spent ages getting the old one off... here's my almost finished new dash.

The carbon insert is one of DaddySumos, and I've machined an aluminium bezel to take the warning lamps and a Samsung Galaxy 3 7inch tablet. The bezel will be satin anodised to match the original clock bezels.

It's give me GPS, music player, anything a tablet can do. Plus if I ever get round to it, a connection to the ecu!
Pictures not great! Still need an oil gauge for the lefthand side.

That looks great. Did you have to cut the dash out? How do you remove the tablet if you ever want to? And how is the bezel attached to the carbon?

yep the dash is cut away to allow for the positions of lamps and gauges.

I've modified the fixings so that the carbon insert is easily removed. I just need to work on a way of securing the heater controls so they stay with the dash rather than be bolted to the insert (as standard).

Tablet isn't really removeable- it's actually held in with a few spots from the glue gun at the moment!
With Wifi and bluetooth it's simple to transfer files to it.

The intention will be to change the main stereo to a JVC for which you can get an android control app.
That gives you the audio link and touchscreen control of the stereo.

The bezel will just be bonded to the carbon once it's been anodised.

Will look at gauges again, maybe I'll end up doing it black with black gauges.

I notice in the pics the mystery black switch similar to the fog switch has not been included on the new dash units.

What does it do? I've never pressed it incase the passenger seat is ejected through the roof!
