What type? Will ordinary spray and lacquer suffice or does it have to be a special enamel?

I had my rocker covers powder coated. I painted the plenum with Hammerite spray paint. Sorry, I can't remember if I used a primer, don't think I did. Both are holding out well though.

I used plastickote for my 500 rockers. Their purple is a spot on match for the TVR 500 colour.

Primed with acid etch after lots of prep and a year later it still ooks spot on - as good as powder coat

Purple plastikote? - got it from B&Q.

The bugger was getting the original powder coat off - even though it was badly degraded modern nitromors just isn’t up to it (they’ve removed all the good stuff because it causes cancer in guinea pigs or something).

Used some gasket remover and a pressure washer in the end but took a few hours.

I painted the whole rocker and then used a random orbit sander to take off the paint from the ribs.

No didn’t do it. Wanted to leave it silver. If I ever do, it would be black or stay silver

Which Plasti Kote did you use? The standard stuff?

Yep as far as I remember.
Certainly wasn't a high temp paint.
Stands up well (flawlessly infact)
No need for lacquer.
