Time for a new company car
its got to be small, sporty and quick and probably [minimal] signwritten

narrowed it down to either a VX220 03plate, 111s 02 plate and a 51 plate sports tourer (all within my budget)

got up to £22k (inc p/x) been offered circa £12k-£13k

test drives booked for this week

VX or Lotus??????

Lotus!

Edit: But test drive them both and decide for yourself, of course!

"I drive a Vauxhall"

That answer it?

Tax yes, but I think the rarity and the fact 135R seems to be developing a following could put the 135R ahead.

If you got 22k to spend and its a Vx vs elise arguement then the vx will win easily for me witht the turbo. With the N/A its no comparison though.

But if you bring the 135R into the equation then it balances out. Not as quick as the vxt but boy is it more desirable.

The Nick Whale car looks v.good value too and i never look at trade sales. That would deffo be my choice anyway.

135R's up close looks the absolute mutts nuts. Saffron Yellow is the colour of choice though

As others have said, drive both and see which you prefer. In terms of acceleration, the VXT will be noticably faster than the Elises.

From my point of view, it'll come down to which engine you prefer. It has its fans, but for me the Rover engine is a real downside to the Elise.

Dan

Edit: errant apostrophie.

I would go for the S2 111s...

Looks far better to me.

Also when asked "what do you drive?"

What would you want to say?

Lotus

Or

VX, you know the little two seater, no not the tiggra the other one....

When we were looking a few weeks back, we'd been to Chris Neils and had a look round a few S1's and S2's, and sat in just about every car they had in. There's a VX dealer 2 mins from home, so I dragged the other half down there for another fun filled morning looking at cars As soon as we sat in the VX, the first thing she said was that it had a great deal of 'Vauxhallness' about it. Although it's the same platform, VX manage to cheapen the interior. The Elise is far nicer (in a minimalistic way...)

well that depends

Chim market is on its uppers at the moment, to give you some idea we recently traded a 98 S 4.0 42,000miles in Silver, nice car for £13k and had bids on a low mileage '00 V 4.5 of £14.5k, both from a normally very good buyer.

Its a case of wrong time of year (December is a bad month for getting anyone in the trade to buy anything!)and that alot of the specialists are bootled with Chim stock.

How painful was they guys bid? are we talking 4 figures?
