i wonder if anyone has fitted sliding race windows are fitted to rally cars and historic race cars

it would allow more circulation in the cabin but worried air not being able to escape means doors will try to open as driving.

just after peoples thoughts

Cabin does build positive pressure and door tops open at high speed. Old video of about 1 inch gap on door top at Bruntingthorpe VMax

This winter I intend to add a small backward facing scoop in CF to the top of the doors. This will have a rubber flap inside that lets air out due to the neg pressure just behind, but won't let air or water in.... Simples!

If anyone else interested in this or getting involved, let me know...

Are the doors not lifting due to air flowing faster over one surface, will venting make a difference?

I think so. Especially based on my 'event' coming back from Le Mans, where the top of my driver-side window 'let go' and air streaming out was playing modern Jazz all the way home!

Didn't have my GIT-tar with me so couldn't strum along... music

Had to whistle to it instead! laugh

(been wanting to find an excuse to use THOSE particular smileys for a long time.... DONE!)

I've got sliding windows on my car. I remove them and slide them behind the passenger seat.

At very high speed my storage panel covers have lifted out of place but no other problems with the windows out.
