Great news - this guy is a massive petrolhead, a clear thinker and having worked under him years ago, a great bloke.

This is the best news for Aston in a long while.

On paper this looks an inspired choice. Let's hope so.

it's great to see the marque attracting top talent which has to increase confidence in the employees and shareholders.

This could be very appealing for Aston Martin.

With the introduction of the 350Z, 370Z, GTR and the Infiniti brand - especially in the US I am hoping Andy Palmer is able to position Aston Martin and their new product line in a more profitable and lucrative path.

I have to admit that the 350Z and derivatives never did much for me, nor the GTR for that matter, but I don't imagine those are his fault. Sounds as if he can manage a business though, it will be interesting.

Andy Palmer sounds like a good choices. You can imagine the message from the board, "It's Aston Martin, don't break it"

I thought Rob was going to get this job (once they got really desperate). Oh no, he's turned to the Dark Side.

I had a 350z before my v8 vantage and its a great car tbh. The steering is a little dead but its very throwable and bags of fun, its also easier to drive fast (probably due to the Aston's limits being way beyond my common sense limits smile)

Outside of our defence work, Nissan is one of our larger customers and the people in the Sunderland plant have a lot of pride in what they do. They have had continuous investment and very little politics getting in the way of imaginative and competent people.
And whatever management have done, it's created a laudable work ethic.

If he is in anyway responsible for that, Aston have got a good chief.
