To get a fade....you will need to print onto clear wrap.....and apply to the whole of the sill...would look the dogs though...

I've never seen clear vinyl except for the paint protection films which are a completely different animal. Car wrap vinyl uses a different type of adhesive layer that is not transparent. It is also applied dry instead of wet like the PPF is.

You can get a clear printed cast vinly which is the same as car wrap....it can be printed and if required laminated to add protection to the printed surface...

If it was mine I'd just have the calipers yellow. Main colour and wheels look great.

how about yellow mirrors?

I would leave the side profile clear .. yellow on it smacks of "trying too hard"

on a related note, I saw an alloro green N430 today.

what a stunning colour, it really accentuates the shape of the Vantage without making it shouty. Alloro Green 'reacts' and reflects its surroundings as well, making the metal take on different hues as you walk around it on a cloudy day.

This is my current absolute favourite colour for the Vantage.

Before I saw in the metal, I was 'settled' on mariana blue.

The other thing that is just lovely about N430 is the Vanquish dials.

Come Dec, I am ordering an N430 Roadster in alloro green and light interior for Spring 2015 smile

They are OEM parts purchased from my Aston Martin dealer.
is it cheaper than including them on the build spec?

Normally it is cheaper to include them in the build spec when ordering the car, but I already had some parts I was going to install on my 4.3 but never got around to. Aston does not give you partial credit if you only want a carbon splitter but not a diffuser for example. It's an all-or-nothing deal.

On a racecar the contrasting mirrors serve a purpose for the team spotters. On a street car, however, they make me think people will say "oh, poor guy got his mirror nicked and had to put some on from a different colored car"—especially in cases where no other parts of the car are painted to match.

Also, keep in mind that in the US, many things you guys in the UK would consider chav are accepted as cool here. It's a cultural thing I'm sure.

I like the short GT4 a lot. Looks classier than a full stripe. Keep it.

^^^^Some people have been having fun in the other forum photoshopping different styles of stripes and many look really cool but I think for now the "stubby stripe" (as it shall now be named) will remain. smile

I think exploring keeping the sides of the body clear of yellow could be cleaner. Your application of the GT4 yellow strip is a quality job but reminds me of a Mustang with the GT written on the side.
As a suggestion, how about yellow rear seat belt guide (the aluminium part by the rear speaker cover), it has a nice character form, you will see them through the rear quarter glass? Could be a nice subtle detail...

So we have established

The colour is great (universal)

Stripes in the US are 'cool'

Stripes in the UK are 'gash'

smile

I like what you have done to the rear diffuser and otherwise would just have done the calipers but as you say KF the AM yellow for these is slightly different. Guess you could get yours custom painted an exact match.

If you must have a stripe I quite like the GT4 but as well and I think the can-do KF we all know can figure out the graduated thing as I think that would work well

Fading GT4 strip and repainted calipers so it all matches if it is going to have extras if not leave it as it arrived which was subtle.

I like both the stubby stripe and the full (non-fade) stripe. The stubby adds a nice accent that replicates the "chunk of yellow" look of the brake calipers, while the full stripe connects the yellow of the calipers.

If I had to pic one, I'd go with the stubby stripe - it's more of an accent and a little more subtle.

The fade isn't bad. Not a fan of the accent lines within the yellow - looks far too busy around the "GT4"

I looked quite closely at the yellow on the calipers, the mirrors and the roof stripe .. they colour match very well, and almost perfectly. Any differences are caused by the caliper paint being slightly more glossy (no doubt the paint is also different).

The reason the caliper paint is different in mine is that I chose a brighter vinyl film because I thought the Aston Martin yellow paint on the graphics pack and calipers was too muted.
