I've been using the forums for a few months now (been a member for much longer)

Having become completely addicted to PH I thought it was about time I shared with you my current track car.

It's a 1999 Peugeot 306 Rallye, here's a few pics and a quick spec list!

The car is VERY good around the corners, but perhaps could do with a bit more grunt on the straights as I estimate it has no more than 170bhp. At the moment on a good lap I manage about 1:27, not too shabby I guess.. especially since I have developed a "quarry complex" which is a fear of a particular corner on this circuit. I don't of course time on the day, I just watch it back through my recordings and time it there.

- XU10J4RS 1998cc 16v
- PT80 Cams
- Quaife ATB Limited Slipp Differential
- KW Variant 2 Coilovers & Rear Shocks
- Spook Eccentric Top Mounts
- Custom Cages Roll Cage (Welded through firewall to strut tops & rear beam mounting points)
- O.Z Superturismo Wheels
- Yokohama AD08R Tyres
- 25mm Rear torsion bars (standard is 21mm)
- Hybrid Anti Roll Bar
- Solid Engine & Gearbox Mounts
- Solid Rear Beam Mounts
- Corbeau Revolution Seats
- Corbeau Side Mounts
- Sparco Steering Wheel & Quick Release Boss
- Full Unnecessary Weight Reduction (car est. 1000kg)
- Carbone Lorraine RC6 Brake Pads
- Braided Brake Lines
- K&N Induction Kit
- Peugeotsport Group N Exhaust
- Nautilus Air Horn for extra "LOL" wink

I bought the car with the work done already and have only tweaked the setup to my liking, and chosen wheel sand tyres of my choice. This is the most recent in a fairly big list of sporty Peugeot's I have owned.

I did want to build one, but splitting my time between full time employment and my daughter I just didn't have time when I was looking to do the work, I have considered moving this on and getting another project, but I cant bear to part with it!

I take it on track as much as I can, mainly Castle Combe Circuit to which I live very close. Here is a small 3 lap clip from French Car Show this year:

Please feel free to comment and give your input! biggrin

Not wild about the white wheels but everything else looks great - those seats look like a proper job!!

The only mod to the engine is the Cams and the Intake. The Cams are very mild, the highest you can go with standard internals is PT82 cams I believe due to clearance issues, and even then most people will pocket out their pistons.

You caught me through editing wink

I dont much care for the O.Z wheels either, truth is when I sold my other white Rallye I wanted to keep the standard Cyclone wheels it had that I spent a lot getting refurbed. They also had valuble Michelin PE2 Tyres. This left me with 2 choices (unless I wanted to swap the tyres round again but couldn't be arsed!)

1.) Sell the white Rallye with the ugly and slightly tatty O.Z with brand new AD08 tyres.

2.) Sell the white Rallye with a mint set of Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels wrapped in new but cheap Toyo T1R tyres.

I chose option 2.

Great if you have a 34" waist or less. IMPOSSIBLE if you are larger, as a few disappointed friends and my father found out... and would have been a few women had I not made up some excuse to stop hem getting in to save them the embarrassment! Luckily I'm a 32" and 5'8".

Also.

For reference here is the white Rallye I sold last month smile

Awesome seats though, I've spent 3 days in those at some events and got out without an ache.

Wow that's stunning!! I have a gti 6 which I hope I can get to this standard, it has a lot of suspension work and brakes but lacks the finish and cage you have!

I'm going to try it on track at Bedford on oct 6th, I have high hopes!

Thats a great looking example mate!

You wont be disappointed on track, they really are very fun. The main downside I always find, is that they are so good in the corners they feel a bit underpowered on the straights... but when you look down and you're still doing 110mph you kind of forget about it! wink

Thanks bud smile

It grips exceptionally in the corners and is very light. I've overtook a few bigger things such as BMWs and the like in/out of corners and chased an Audi RS4 once! Until he eventually had to let me pass. While obvious he wasn't going flat out, after speaking to him i dont think he was really giving it the beans at all. Still, fun smile

Ill see if i can grab it.

I'm not too sure, being quite a dangerous corner that can cause a flip if you hit the barrier, i take it quite easy and dont observe my indicated speed. A friend once commented that he felt is was between 70 and 80mph, with which i agreed. This is what a passenger also claimed to see on the speedo.

I know the car is capable of a higher entry speed but at present i dare not risk it, same story with quarry.

Oh I see! I've seen a few bad things at camp, spun there a few times but never piled in...

Unlike quarry, in which I've had an experience once frown

Ouch.

My Uncle lunched the first of his Chimaeras there. He blames the instructor who kept telling him to push push push over Avon Rise.

I think you do need to push over avon rise, but its not something you can just try, or you'll crash. I think you needto slowly get better at it yourself.

An instructor told me to take it at my own pace and showed ,me a few lines. I think staying right over the rise, then goimg left, then aiming for the apex is correct, but ive not got the stones for that!!
