Ultimate Race Series
Discussion
The McLaren P1 GTR, the inevitable Ferrari LaFerrari XX, Ferrari 599 XX, Ferrari FXX, Pagani Zonda R, Koenigsegg CCGT, etc
I keep thinking to myself that it would be incredible to have a race series with the 'track-only' versions of the ultimate supercars of the moment and recent past. I understand that it would be very difficult to have them racing Le Mans, etc. because of regulations.
Therefore, would it be possible to create a unique race series of these cars together? There could be a historic class with F40 LM, XJ220C, F1 GTRs, etc. and then a modern class of the cars above, amongst others.
Any thoughts? Could it happen?

You'd probably need cars that were not controlled or run by the factory as you could never get them to agree on rules for fear of being beaten
It would almost be easier to run a one-off invitation race in the UK at a national level eg buy an hour of race at a Britcar organised meeting
Series tend to require more rules & authorisations and also would encourage owners to spend and spend to win
The next issue on the day would be to hope that the cars actually complied with safety rules despite not having been designed to race

Surely Ferrari can't complain if you buy an LF and track it against others?
Even the sanctions you mention don't say much for F's confidence in its own product.
There are no such sanctions (I've had the contract, done the LaF factory visit etc) Even the sanctions you mention don't say much for F's confidence in its own product.
There is some utter BS posted here
