Hi all

I am in the process of fitting my Dash 2 pro unit, which I know others have also used in place of the standard instruments. I wanted to simply mount it using a suitable bracket without any cowling/binnacle, in keeping with a minimalist racing look I am trying for interior wise. I have been worrying a little about reflections, but reckon it will be ok.

Next worry, though, is IVA. Any thoughts out there on whether not fitting a cowling would be a problem?

Many thanks.

If it is fitted behind the steering wheel then it should be OK. If it is in the middle of the dash then it will likely fail 'sharp edges'.

If it does not have a cowl then you will get reflections. I have the Stack dash and had to make the cowl even larger to resolve the issue.

I like that! That's pretty much where it's going, with the key difference being that I am mounting it to the dash behind the steering wheel and not the wheel itself.

Not much room for grip in that picture other than in the track biased quarter to 3, though!

Where did you source your cowl from Abbo?

Home made - pm me if you want the dimensions and more photos - it's not fixed yet so you can see the dash cuts and mounting points or if your ever down near Crawley call in

The Dash2 is a great unit that provides good visibility even in direct sunlight. Pic of my setup below in an aeroscreen'd Can Am. Even in the sunniest of days, I've never struggled to see the display smile

Just a reminder. If, like me you are an older git with poor close distance vision but very good long distance then some of the digital dashboards use very small digits for some functions.
I have varifocal glasses but cannot wear them for driving so I am planning to use the output from my ECU to feed some functions to my iPad so that I can see them without glasses.

My dash is an SPA. The problem is the little grey block of digital figures centre bottom for fuel level and pressure, oil pressure and water temp.
