Sorry for the delay chaps, I had written a few words, but the old post was deleted by admin.

So had a few days to live with the new car, and what can I say, I have been very very lucky.

Start from the top.

The roof, is in very good condition, no rips or tears, the rear plastic is clear and crease free. All glass on the car is in fantastic condition, and original with TVR logos etched into them.

Bodywork of the car is in very good condition for it's age. Deep colours, all of which matching on each panel. No big scratches or gouges or anything worth noting. There are a couple of little stone chips on one of the rear arches, but the front end is very clean. Bear in mind it was the splitter that was cracked causing the Cat D, so has had new fiberglass and paint (will post pics of this in a min) With regards to the repair, I can't see any lines or patches or anything, almost seamless, and trust me I have looked hard.

Alloys are all in really good condition, no scrapes or scuffs. Been really lucky with the tyres, seems to have nearly new/new Toyo's all round with bags of grip. Very very lucky there.

Brakes are sharp, and there is no pulling under braking at all. Handbrake holds the car really well.

Interior, condition of driver seat is not fantastic, but it's done over 100k, so I can live with that. In fact all the cream leather is going to be re-coloured before xmas to make the interior perfect. The dash has some cracks in the wood, but I understand this to be fairly common, and will order a leven dash and accessories etc. Absolutely everything works as you would expect bar the oil pressure gauge (Glen posting a new one or sender). Windows, if you try to lower and raise both at the same time, the drivers one slows down a bit, but I am being very critical here. Lights, heater, wipers blah blah blah all perfect working order.

Mechanicals, had the car inspected, and epic news. The outriggers/chassis is in amazing condition (as promised by seller). Engine idles well, no hunting. No hesitation under gentle or hard acceleration, in fact does absolutely everything that it's asked without any fuss at all. Starts on the nail, oil condition and level is good, magnecor leads and I'm told decent plugs in clean condition.

Has power steering, that all seems to work fine, bit heavy when not moving, but only compared to the Porsche.

The bad bits.

I only have 1 key and 1 immobiliser fob, this worries me, but I can get another key cut at least. Not sure what my options are with regards to the immobiliser fob.

I opened the bonnet to have a poke the day after I got it and struggled to close it again, couldn't get it to pop into place. As previously noted, being a powerfully built company director, I decided that might would be right, and really tried forcing the bonnet edge down. I've now broken one of the bolts that holds the bonnet catch to the bulkhead! My fault entirely, not sure how the hell this is going to be fixed, but I'll worry about this in a bit.

Ladies and Gents, I kid you not, these are, today, all the problems with the car! I consider myself to be very lucky, and I'm glad I did what I did, as I now have a car in the colour I was after, for very little money, all things considered. I know some will argue that I could have bought a straight car and all that jazz, but realistically, I have bought a fully working TVR, that wants for nothing for less than £5k. Very happy.

For what it's worth. The seller was very good to deal with, and went over and above on having the car sent down to me for inspection, fitted a new battery for which he enclosed the receipt. Threw in some replacement green tvr mats he had kicking around, and put in a new CD player as when he acquired the car the head unit wasn't in there.

He's been pushing me for feedback on the car, has responded positively to my query with regards to the Oil gauge and has offered FOC parts to repair.

Generally a very nice bloke, who sent me a few pics of a "Sagmora" that he recently built as he thought I'd be interested to see.

If I need any spares in the future, I know where my first port of call will be.

Make sure you push the bonnet release handle fully in when you have opened the bonnet . It can stay in the released state so you can't latch the bonnet shut .
Happens on my chim and sure I have seen other mentions of this problem.

Really easy. 2-hours max. If you have a decent sized tablet and good internet connection then get it started Sunday evening with the F1 highlights just starting. You'll be done by the drop of the flag. biggrin

I'd agree, a doddle. The hardest bit is getting your arm in to unbolt the dash top. Usually comes out looking like youve had a fight with a cat with all the self tappers in there. Watch the bolts on the back of the dash top don't catch on the leather on the back roll section too.

Seconded, Dave is a top bloke. Might we well get him to do the remote boot release too.
